This is my horses great grand dad... He didnt really live up to his standards... as he raced twice and came in last every time... Oh well hes a great jumper!
In college I lived on Bold Ruler St. and the next street over was Native Dancer, it took me a few weeks to get it but some one must have really liked racing.
I could add so much more to the list of the wounderfull horse, did you kwon he was half brother to Nashua who was owned by Blair Stud and also trained by Sunny Jim. I wll come back and add a few stories from when I was a boy and a hot walker for mr. Fitz in the late 50"s and early 60"s, and I remember Bold Rulers first crop of two year olds.
bold ruler was the father of secretariat.....and he was the great great great grand father of 2011 belmont stakes winner ruler on ice :D how amazing is that i had to look up the pedigree to believe it buts its TRUE :D anyways i thought it was cool that he had an amazing son and a great, great great great grandson :)
People nowdays seem to know Bold Ruler as a sire. Yet he was a great racehorse who had savage speed, and he demonstrated to the world he had the grit to win at a mile and a quarter with as much as 130 LBS PLUS on his back. And his foes were not chumps either. He was a great TB period!

A truly amzing horse, look at his colts! He is a little unappreciated in today's racing society.
