when i get enough money,i would like to do business with you. i want my car to be super and fly, too! do you only work on classic caddy cars? i love chrome on cars! chrome is still in in my book.
can anybody tell me were you can find the wheel that are on the side of the cadillac can be found? what is that cold the side spare wheels or something? and is this guy still in business?
For people who don't know what a SLAB is, SLABS stands for Slow Loud And Bangin. It's a term used mostly in Texas for an old school car such as a custom Cadillac or Lincoln fitted with the chrome accessories such as grill, Rolls Royce goddess hood ornament, trunk belt buckles, and rear wheel covers.
However, this trend is nothin but East Coast style that has already been popular thoughout the U.S. since the late 1960's and 70's and SLABS are nothin but Super Fly cars Pimp cars.etc.
lolas133 you an ignorant dumbass, these cars got the trunk belt buckels, front grill, rolls royce hood ornaments aka lady chrome, spokes, and thick padded vinyl tops.
Ya'll so-called SLABS in
Texas are OVERALL no different from these cars. The East Coast came up with all that since the late 1960's and 70's(except for the Swangas)and everybody throughout the U.S. been doing that since then.
SLABS are nothing but Super Fly cars, Pimpmobiles. etc.
KC was a REAL new york pimp back in the 70's who let the movie producers of the 1972 movie "Super Fly", borrow his his 1971 Eldorado for the film. which was cutomized by Les Dunham Coach.
this was a really good peace i never knew were these cars came from or who pimp them out.back in the 70s if u seen 1 one on the street in minnesota they alway had out of town plates like new york,l.a.,chi town,phlly,b-more,dc,san fran, & seattle.the pimps where hi roller & didn't play.
I had a 67 Caddy with pin striping, wide white walls, landeau bars, and a flying goddess. I was stopped by the Detroit police on a regular basis. Oh, I'm white.
@Tallmark1 My pops had a Landeau package on his 1974 Buick Electra. Man it was pimped out. I broke of the emblem in 1981 when I was 3 and he nearly tossed me across the room. We laugh about that car now...lol!!!
TKS!! You build them so they DO stand out!!" Since Forney owned 1000's of cars He must a found the company to apply the vinyl top and windows somewhere The 74 came with larger windows but I have yet to see the arrow shape vinyl and figured someone out there could shed some light. 2 tons a lead 1/2 a mile ahead!
Yes ur right, u biuld them so they do stand out, u may see some people who drive 70's cadillacs with JUST a large custom grill and elbow spoke wheels, but overall it's jus a common thing than seeing a RARE customized cadillac wit Fly Lights(headlight covers), Tarantula shaped spoke wheel, Large custom but unique and detailed grill which is not ur common or ordinary customized cadillac or lincoln.
Did Dunhan place the windows in my 1973 Coupe Deville?? No name plate-no one can tell me anything on the opera windows? Mrs. Forney of Denver Forney Transportation Museum was the owner at that time.
bigblockgm, there were other custom shops in the U.S. besides les dunham like Wisco Co. that had customized cadillacs but, it wasn't near famous as les dunham coach company. especially that Duhan does more flamboyant things to the cadillacs and lincolns like put on large sized grills that are larger than a normal customized grill along with the "Fly lights"(headlight covers).
U can say that again theforce34, those cars r way betta than 2days Benzes and Rolls-Royces. Even if the Benzes r customized they still wont out do those caddys.!!
Les Dunham had the original Pimp My Ride / Custom Car Shop. He was decades before Unique Auto, West Coast Customs, 310 motoring and all the rest. He was smart enough to not hate but calculate that cash.
Yeah, but besides calculating the cash, he enjoyed what he did and that's what i like about him, plus he came up with ideas that are still better than 2days
yeah 3alarm, but besides the idea that les dunham came up with, we must thank K.C. cause' he's the real one who came les dunham and up with the idea of havin a cadillac look like a rolls royce with the grills and headlights, the rest was les dunhams idea.
yeah 3alarm, but besides the idea that les dunham came up with, we must thank K.C. cause' he's the real one who came 2 les dunham and came up with the idea of havin a cadillac look like a rolls royce with the grills and headlights, the rest was les dunhams idea.
In fact, if you get your hands on a 1971 Lincoln Contintal and a 1976 Mark 4, u will definintly have a collection alongside wit the cadillacs and it will turn heads to. Plus, Les Dunham who you see in this video also customizes Lincolns too besides the Cadillacs.
also has always been a lincoln person along side his brother who has always been a Cadillac person. In fact, my granfather used to own a 1977 Lincoln Town Car until he got a 1988, 1998 Designer Series, then a 2003 Designer Series with the ragtop.
Don't 4get that the old Lincolns from the 70s-are rare cars to as for the Cadillacs.
efficient like what Chrysler had done to their Hemi engines by having a system that only uses the extra 2 cylinders in their V8 engines that turns on depending on how fast your going. Plus, keep the interior as they where in the 70's but, have the seats with the new material that the company Benz uses inside their seats to have it comfortable as a Mercedes-Benz.
Oh, and my grandmother used to own a 1972 4-door Deville Fleetwood Bougham until she sould it in 1993. my great grandfather also
Now there are cars out there today that still has that 70's body to em like todays Lincoln Town Cars and Crown Vics due to the body-on-frame body, but others like cadillac don't even make their cars like they used to and the only thing in my opinion that's saving them is the Escalade but, it won't be for long since people r now sellin them because of the gas prices and the cost of mantianec.
great great great made my day watching , l owners a 72 coupe de ville that l bought in london and had a rolls grill, caddy godess and laudau bars and chrome straps on the trunk ,l still own an 85 eldorado biaritz that has a rools grill ,continenal rear wheel wire wheels ect !! own it pimp it im a happy white guy thanbks xxxxxxxxxxx
U know what johnnycadillac, my grandmother had a 1972 Deville 4-door until my grandfather told her to sell it back in the mid-90's, and my great grandfather has always been a lincoln Town Car and Continental person alongside my brother who has always been a cadillac person.
I jus wish that Cadillac and Lincold goes back to makin these cars especiallly since they were reliable than todays american cars that depend so much on those computer tech stuff 2 fix on than these cars.
I live in the United States, where they make the Cadillacs, i don't own a car yet because like i said before that im savin up for one soon, it will po=robably be a 1972 Cadillac but, im not going to say which. And Altough Chrysler is tryin to get back into the "Big-car" business with the 300C. it won't be the same as they where in the 1960's-70's. But, hopefully Cadillac with all the technology they have can go back to the old body styles with the fiber-body, and make their engine's fuel
Thanks for posting this video. I already have a copy of it but was wondering where you found it? Is it a special feature on a foreign DVD of Superfly?
Les Dunham is the O.G. who came up with the belt buckles on the decklid and the Rolls-Royce grill cap (every slab a.k.a. slow loud and bangin has one except for the RR headlites)...
Beautiful cars, those Cadillacs a way better than todays Cadillacs. Cadillac needs to start bringin' those cars back by making those cars again. Especially, the 71-78 Eldorados
i don't everyone has that grill cause that grill is too big and the trimming is different, plus look at les dunham grills that has the wings in the front letting u know it's a true les dunham grill. The people who have grills similar to his grill but, there all clones.

When paid less than 85 cents for a gallon of gas, these rides had plenty of time on the street.....

Cat's in Texas are currently riding like this, they call them slabs. There are slight cosmetic difference's but in essence it's still the same .

no it aint the only thing that looks like it would be the grill and 5th but nothing else
lolas133 2 years ago
You are correct , it's not exactly the same but this car is the prototype for the slab movement .
