Huge secret for sugar ant bait that they sell at the store.: Make sugar water=2cups sugar, 1 cup water. Heat until clear and cool down. Save in sugar water bottle and mix with Borax as you need it. Using a gram scale mix 35 parts sugar water to 2 parts Borax (37 total). Reheat in microwave to mix nicely. That's the exact 0.054% Borax mix. Too much Borax will make the ants figure it out too fast, slow kill is the correct way.

addendum: Adding about 25% more water to your sugar water bottle is OK to keep the bait from drying out so fast and turning hard on the ants outdoor. After that the ratio is still the same, Borax vs. the Sugar water = 2 parts Borax vs 35 parts sugar water
