The best way to practice malfunction drills is to, first Have an AR, it will soon enough malfunction lol. No but really I would actually Get some crappy GI issue magazines and just get the internals dirty. You should try to make it actually surprise you that way you are not already anticipating the malfunction, it will make for better training.
@theunsuspecting I've been shooting ARs for about 6 years now and I've only experienced one malfunction with any of the rifles I've owned or been issued. The GI mags is a good suggestion. In all our malfunction drills we have someone else setting up the malfunction and the shooter never knows when or what will happen. I'm just looking for a better way to set some of these up.
@Highjak86 Well I have shot them for about 8 years(i dont start a trivial argument over who has shot them longer, because that is irrelevent.) And have owned two ARs, was issued them in the military, a few of my buddies shoot them and I see people shooting them all the time. My A2 in boot malfunctioned a few times that i remember on the rifle range, my issue rifle had quite a few problems in SOI, and I seen alot of buddies in the corps have plenty of malfunctions,
@Highjak86 Ive been shooting them for about 8 years now (although that is irrelevent) And had multiple malfunctions with my issued rifles and seen it happen not only to me but my buddies in the corps as well. And have a few friends in the Army that say the same. I even had a colt HBAR that had a catastrophic malfunction that i hadnt even heard before, so If you havent had a malfunction, you prolly havent ran it hard.
@theunsuspecting My issued one in the military is the only one I had problems with. I've ran them hard enough that the barrels are glowing bright red during night fires. I'd say that's pretty hard. The AR isn't a barbie gun like everyone thinks it is.
@wayne1one Haha! Yes, we did totally forget that this particular range visit. CC = Awesome Thanks for watching! Check out the rest of my vids if you liked this one.
@deathdrummer704 Thanks for the comment and glad you enjoy! Nope, that is my old rifle. A complete RRA upper and lower with Daniel Defense 12.0 lite rail.
