how come the read speed is 'only' 816mb/s when u have raided the 2 drives ? I thought each drive was 555 MAX ? I have my sony laptop with 2 3rd gen SSDs and I am getting over 1k read speed... I actually have recently bought 4 force 3 drives but I am running on a defective P8P67 which hasnt been sent back for a recall so just getting 700MB/s lol
@AceCobra1 Depending on the test and application I have seen over 1000 megs a second. You generally never see perfect 555 x2 on raid. Also running 4 drives on a single board that are sata 3 won't ever see maximum performance because the intel chipset that can actually do 550+ r/w only have 2 plug ins. In other words to get more than 2 sata 3 drives going you need to have a raid card. OH don't be confused if you have 2 more sata 3 those are Marvel and they aren't good for raid.
thanks for the post! question: once I set up the raid array (Raid0) in the Web GUI, do I still have to go into Computer Management and set up the array? thanks
Thanks for the video, I have a AMD raid setup and just got two Vertex 3 60GB best using onboard sata 3 is 660MB read but yet my writes at best are 179, any ideas?
If you want to get faster read times on SSD drives you need to align the Raid, with ssd's you can get up to another 50mb/s sometimes. Google it, it's a little complicated but it really helps on the IOP.
Ps. thanks for uploading the only vid on youtube, i wanted to know if there was any sas cables and you answered! nice. Also another question did you run both ssd off one cable or two seperate cables i,e, utilize both ports?
@tomaso1z I used one port since I had to buy a cable, I have no idea if that would give me better performance or not/ regardless its still sharing the same lane on the board.
exactly what i plan to do lol except with 2x 120gb Force 3, BTW its 250mbps on PCI-E double that for PCI-E version 2.0 x8 = 4gbps :D ........nice setup! My question is whats it like on loading games?

so you would set up the array at the bios level and then when you boot into win7 the array should be recognizable and ready to go?

@Psylacus thinking about it my guess is not as it wouldnt supply the possible 8 drives properly. you got awesome results anyway

@tomaso1z Most games I don't have time to read the little extra's they have at the bottom of the screen/ tips and tricks... they flash up and vanish.
