  • LoL, i like the A/C cooler!

  • learn2mount your CPU cooler on the right way -_-

  • @jdcrispe95 , It is mounted the correct way

  • @HeartfieldTalonV its meant to be mounted sideways bro...

  • Awsome

  • Still very a pretty damn good pc by today's standards. hope it gets good use. I have to spot fan on my sli helps alot 10 degree drop

  • @crzykid71 Thanks, It gets really good use, I played the Battlefield 3 Alpha, and it handled very well. Even for an Alpha game which has not been optimized yet, no studdering. frame rate was only like 60+ but that;s with no SLI support. so single card.. I get to play the BF3 Beta in September 2011

  • @crzykid71 , and yea Spot cooling will really make difference,

  • how do those 285s breath while being so close together :P

    awesome rig though :D

  • @PCTechTalks , Thanks.. , A lot of fans, lol.. 5 - 120MM front intake fans to be exact + exaust. all cards stay below 70c when maxed at 90-100% I also keep the ambient at an acceptable 69-75c..

  • Nice setup

  • @aawells07 , Thank you. It's about 3 years old now, still in the same basic configuration, with some minor hardware changes, Now has a 3-Bay HDD hot swap in 2 5.25" drive bays, added a Corsair H-50 last year, also have it in RAID0 x 2 @ 1TB on the JMB363 SATA controler, with a 500GB storage drive. Removed the 3 big drive cages to open it up inside for better airflow. It's still rockin the games, even Crysis 2, and BC2, I can't wait to see BF3, I may need to get some DX11 cards for that game

  • @HeartfieldTalonV Yeah im with you on BF3 that game truly looks amazing im building my first pc now unfortunatly im not able to build an extreme machine and have to buy a couple parts at a time but it will still be sweet no less and its so exciting when the parts arrive at my door and then open them up ahh like christmas lol

  • @aawells07 , Sweet, as long it plays, it's awsome. and building it yourself is priceless, and fun. Congrats.. Please post pics on your channel, I would like to check it out when you get done.

  • whats the song ?

  • @DeathM3TaL , The song is "Bullets" by Creed

  • @HeartfieldTalonV

    Thanks bro

  • Like father and sun

  • you always need a Dr. Pepper

  • i have the same case, running GTX 460's sli'd only bad thing is the pci e plugs in the back not on top and so i cant mount the h50 corsair like you did in your other video. Anyways cool build...

  • @metzgermeisterfuchs , Actually. The radiator is above the PCB, so the PCIe connectors should'nt be a problem, however the fan under that would...

  • @metzgermeisterfuchs , check out my new modded version, removed the drive cages so the rad has more room, plenty of clearence now

  • what are the temps with that A/C hookup?

  • @KillyWildlands Overclocked @ I really can't remember, I was getting 62c without it, I want to say 53c @ 4.0GHZ, load.

  • ac mod FTW

  • Think my panties got a bit wet....

  • i have the same pc, nice dude :P

  • cool, can you play tetris on it?

  • @ATIGames Its a good one. Thums up

for playing Tetris with this Rig.

  • little bit rich?

  • great bord...

  • lol, the AC hookup makes me laugh. I live in a basement so my room is always around 68- degrees.

  • @aaren117 , Now that would be great, I'm upstairs so it's hot up here without it.

  • @HeartfieldTalonV Lol, I find myself warming my feet with my tower's exhaust from time to time.

  • nice Dr.Peper FTW nice Pcs to

  • @67CopperHead , Thanks. I had to lay off the DP, it's Diet Pepsi now. Yuck. Really not to bad.

  • @HeartfieldTalonV Try Diet Dr. Pepper I actually prefer it over the regular.

  • @aaren117 , I did drink Diet Dr Pepper for a bit, then diet pepsi, Now I'm on Coke.. LOL

  • fuck man, nice rig ;)

  • @danihj86 , Thanks ..

  • that's a bad ass setup man, how's the 9900 do for cooling, i'm trying to choose between that one and a cooler master V8.

  • @jessewoolard , it does very well, but not much better then the 9700, I ran several tests on a Q6600 OC @ 3.6GHZ, the 9700 load was 57c, the 9900 load was 55c, so it will get a small performance increase vs 9700, I now use the Corsair H50, On the i7 I get a 9c temp drop @ full load. H50 vs 9900, hope that info helps. I have never used the CM V8

  • You are so fucking lucky to have that power there!!!

  • @Proboris , Thanks!

  • its important check evga site!

  • @TheXtremeGamer90 , A new version? FTW3 Nice!

  • @HeartfieldTalonV do u know why evga called ftw?

  • @TheXtremeGamer90 , Why?

  • @HeartfieldTalonV I asked u first!

  • @TheXtremeGamer90 , LOL - "F@#% The Wimps", LOL.. "For The Win" ?

  • @HeartfieldTalonV ? WHat? anyway new evga mobo with usb 3.0 but asus rampage 3 extreme is better!

  • @TheXtremeGamer90 , wow, new board FTW3, too bad it does not have a Lifetime Warranty. They added USB 3.0, and SATA 3.0

  • How do you prevent condensation on your AC to PC cooling system? Or do you get condensation at all.. I'm just curious, I thought about doing it on my humble ol pc.

  • @OmegaBahn , Never had any condensation, but I don't use that anymore, I changed out the 9900 for a Corsair H50, temps are 10c lower. I would imagine I could get some really good results if I hooked that A/C back up.

  • @HeartfieldTalonV, thanks! I've decided to go the old fashion hole saw and drill to mount x2 120mm's on the side panel facing my window AC. That predict it should help. BTW awesome clean setup you've got. More power to you.

  • extreme pc

  • I just want to make this very clear... HOLYSHITFUCK?!?!?!

  • extremly

  • Thanks alot man appreciate it aye

  • Hows the 9900 cool your I7? im considering getting one =D

  • @1337Br4D, I recently replaced the 9900 with the Corsair H50 I installed it differently then the specs as I do with everyting, The Zalman 9900 did a good job, you can also visit my Website, as I am comparing the 9900 to the 9700, William Wendland

  • on board audio anything> Creative anything

  • What is mysic play ?

  • @ThreeDrive , The song is "Bullets" by "CREED" from the album "Weathered"

  • Thumbs up for air cooling ;) Liquid cooling still isn't "needed" on many machines.. and this video prooves it. 4GHz on air.. it might be a little louder but it's safer than water and less faffing about.

  • Thats a bad boy system must have some cash at you disposal

  • i have the same CPU cooler but it s really dusty

  • What's the value of the energy bill?? haha.

  • @delbiolima, really not that bad, it does not use the full 1600 watts, and only uses approx: 1000 watts when stressing the machine, also this rig is not powered on 24/7 I use the 1600 watt, so I can max @ 60% of the PSU's max load capacity, for cleaner power, and longetivity.

  • @HeartfieldTalonV oh, I see. Nice, dude!

  • @delbiolima, no problem, it does not use as much elec. as you would think. only uses what it needs, no more then 1000 watts full load, less when not using GPUs

  • O MY GOD!!!

    how much?

  • What's up everyone.

Can anyone tell me if there is a such of a thing on the market?

If you have sli (2 way, 3 way...etc) is it possible to buy a USB PCI express for a wi/fi card since the GPUs either block a free PCI slot of completely take them up?

    Greatly Appreciated!!!!!!

  • @Emmyloveteddy, I guess you cannot post a link here, so I would google "USB TO RJ45 LAN ADAPTER"

  • It's like, i just saw a monster!!

  • nice build :D

  • Whats your electricity bill like running all of these high performance gpu's?

  • @viper0981 , it only uses Approx 1000 Watts at full load, probably only 400-500 watts at idle if even that, so really not that much, Also the power is only on when I'm using it. Gaming would be the most usage of electricity. Just gotta be energy conscious...

  • dear god..

  • Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa..whoa hold on someone said 8 GPU Folding farm?! You do know 8 GTX 280s are more expensive and also less powerfull altogether then 1 nvidia Tesla Card (1000$) which is built to do parrallel computation and math like that and also for gaming most games can barely read 3 GPUs

  • @GoodDay2YouSir, This is across 5 PCs, and SLI must disabled to use each GPU for folding, and each GPU has an instence of Folding@home runing. I have never tried a Tesla GPU. but 3 cards equals 3 times faster folding.

  • i really like your graphics cards how much for one

  • @adamwhitford, The ones I have were only available for a very short time, the highest Factory Overclocked GTX285 to my knowlage 720MHZ. However a GTX285 cost much less now then they did last year.

  • AHAHAHAHAHAHA the AC cooler at the very end that made my day!! best part is i bet it works too...XD

  • @iwineverytime88 , Yes it did work, was trying to get record Vantage Scores. there was a lot of Controversy about condensation, but the A/C removed moisture from the air. Glad you were entertained by that.

  • haha, cool but won't the AC do the opposite job when it is cold out?

  • @806543721, No my office is upstairs so I run Cool air 24/7 even in the Winter. And shut off the Central A/C to this room. The hard part is Folding, It really heats up the entire room. I run an 8 GPU Folding Farm So I need cold air.

  • im going to buy the x59 but what size should i buy..my cae is pretty smal and i never had to buy a motherboard befor so idno!

  • @kubahobo, I'm not familiar with x59, maybe you meant x58, either way just check the specs of the motherboard it will be either, mATX-(micro) ATX-(Standard) eATX-(Extended) and make sure your case supports the specification of the motherboard. personally I never use anything under Mid Tower ATX, even if I'm using a micro ATX board, as long as the case supports the factor.

  • ok big thanks, i wrote this in a hurry but i meant 58. I might be able to buy the antec 1200, i hear its big, but like i said, never bought a motherboard ( i got help ) myself so i was afraid of buying the wrong size. Tanks

  • oh ya and sorry i mean i SAW the antec (this video lol)

  • so poor that people have to show their hardware in you tube....never scored in life eh? or whats the point?

  • @HansKloss009 , Well you are looking, so I guess that's the point. It's fun and entertaining. Sorry you feel that it's poor we post our computer hardware on YouTube. Someone building a system can look at mine and see what works well, both performance and cost efficiency. just like some people drive over priced cars.

  • lol i didnt even know, same fucking thing i will buy for new year! is it good? how it runs on games, how much fps u got?

  • This rig will max Any game on the market, maxed @ 1920x1200 with AA up tp SLIAA-32Q, Crysis is no problem for this rig... up to 100FPS, AVG 60FPS all games.. Some games get 400FPS is the engine allows it.. This thing overclocked is an absolute overkill for every game except Crysis.. I found about 10FPS gain in Crysis when Overclocked to 4.0GHZ CPU and the DDR3 @ 1600MHZ...

  • Also keep in mind these are Special Graphics cards, and are no longer available @ these speeds of 720MHZ each... I think the 702MHZ are still available. However Fermi will be released soon, and this rig finds a place in history... Cheers..

  • ok thanks

  • Is this good rig

    Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 BOX, 4x2.66GHz

    ATI HD4890 1GB DDR5

    6 GB RAM

  • Shouldnt the zalman cpu fan be turned by 90 degrees :X to send heat to the outake fan on the back of the case

  • No, I have a 200MM fan on top, heat rises, so I mounted it this way on purpose, It also pulls cool air to the Northbridge, which is directly below it.

  • Nah bro when your cooling something you want the same direct airflow...Rock Touching is right your rear Fans should always be blowing out, top fan blowing out, side and front fans in, Zalman should be blowing out exhaust with rear.

  • @Altimus01 , Heat rises, and I have already tested several scenarios, this gives me a 3c advantage, you are right about airflow, in this case airflow is diagnal going up., and also this helps to kool the northbridge which is directly below it, pulling kool air to it.

  • Fan should face back of case.

  • @RockTouching If you have a top fan then you can angle it any way you want, the back is usually pushed up against the wall and doesn't have as good airflow as the top exhaust fan.

  • hey..i'm getting a core i7 cpu..which board should i get?the p55 or x58??

  • It would depend on how much money you want to spend versus performance.. The P55 is a great product, but I'm afraid it will not out perform the X58..

  • I'm getting the evga x58 sli board. How good is the 3-way sli x58 board?

  • It is totally awsome,

However I will ask which X58 board are you getting?

And check out the audio options, cause on my board with 3-way sli, there is no room for an add in audio card, I have to use USB X-FI. just FYI the onboard sound is week on this board.

  • damn dude

  • nice nice^^

  • damn this mclovin did alot of work just to play wow.......

  • LOL @ The AC at the end

  • Yeah DR. Pepper

  • First this is a great post 5/5!! Just wondering what made you point the zalman up instead of back. Now this has me thinking.. What is better facing it toward two 120mm fans or at the single 200mm fan. How much sound vs temp would be produced with these settings..

    - Turn all fans on high..

    - 120mm x 2 high, 200mm med

    - 200mm x 1 high, 120mm x2 at med

  • Thanks Counterstrikejunky, I have all fans on high.. it is very load almost to the point of anoyance.

5 120MM fans in front all on high

2 120MM in back on high

    200MM on top High

    the zalman is on high..

And I never use the side panel, Too Hot..

I pointed the zalman upwards on 2 of my systems, because heat rises, this has shown a 3C or better on 2 PCs the other a Q6600 with a zalman 9700

  • I was thinking the same, the fact heat is already rising why not have the main fan in the middle work with the path heat naturally wants to take b/c with the zalman your doing more than just cooling a cpu - your creating the streamline for the air flow in the entire case. Awesome so glad I saw this. Thanx!

  • I can turn them down to MED , it is quieter, but still really loud. and is fine for idle, but when playing Crysis my entire room gets hot, (No LIE) it works as heater in the winter. but with 1 fan on high the system is loud, so I just run 100% fan speeds...

  • SUPER SICKKK!! AWESOMME!! woah..

so w8 i have an antec 900.. will the zalman 9900 fit in my case? i would like to close the case completely...

awesome piccss.. im so freakass jealous!

    sick AC!

  • I am not 100% sure, but I have measured, and seems that it wii fit,

However, there may be an issue with Zalman 9900 in an Antec 900 with the side 120MM fan installed..

  • is ur CPU cooler really good and quiet cuz im buying it tomorow and was just wondering if it is good?

  • CPU @ 4.0GHZ

    Idle - 42C

    Load - 62C

    Ambient 72F

    Arctic Silver Ceramique

  • is that a zalman 9900? if so i got one and was wondering how well that keeps your temps down

  • CPU @ 4.0GHZ

    Idle - 42C

    Load - 62C

    Ambient 72F

    Arctic Silver Ceramique

  • great vid, great rig 5/5. How did u get your cable management so great, im hopless at it?

  • I just took my time, Researched everyone else's cable management, And took any advice I could get. But patience is really the key. I don't think mine is 100%, but I'm happy with it.

  • hey how's that corsair ram cooler? is it quiet

  • It's not bad, as far as how quiet, over all the other fans, I really can't tell, so many fans......

  • Love that air condition cooler! what are you temps!

  • The A/C kools it quite a bit, mostly for the 720MHZ GTX285s, I only used that to get a stable Overclock, But I have'nt used it for quite a while. My temps are A-OK

  • very nice rig 5/starz

    LazyMan

  • Did you have to trim the bracket at all? I heard some people where having problems with the zalman 9900 and the x58!

  • As a matter of fact I did, I used a dremel just for a small amount of plastic on the end. it was'nt a big deal at all.

  • I added an Anotation to the video about this. Thanks, I actually forgot I even had to use the dremel until you mentioned it.

  • Awsome Setup

  • Ha a window air conditioner!

  • what the temperature of the your cpu???

  • Overclocked @ 4.0GHZ ,

    Idle - 44c

    Load - 62c

  • the one for me

  • i love your hardwere and case

  • 1st comment, very good!!
