The problem is in the system. now days with digital recording you have as much time as you want to work through a verse. It makes the artists lazy. there's no pressure to really get things down. when your recording to tape and you got a couple of opportunities to really lay it down as well as you can. The tension of the moment can inspire real conviction and fluidity.
