Thank you so much for posting this song. I have loved it since I was a child and heard a local gospel group perform it in church. I didn't know Bill Gaither wrote it. Ernie and the guys do it so beautifully.

I dont think Bill Gaither wrote this song. There is an older version by the Gatlin Brothers.

Bill Gaither just changed up few of the words. Good Rendition though. Very Moving!!!

natashalee, Bill Gaither wrote this in the late 50's. It was recorded by the Golden Keys Quartet, that featured Danny Gaither as lead singer.

This song helped me forgive someone who hurt me very deeply a year ago. I never could get rid of the anger, resentment etc. But when I heard them sing that Jesus asks"Lovest thou me more than these" and what I would answer Him, I prayed and forgave the person completely. Now I can truly say "I love thee, Lord" when He asks me "Lovest thou me?" If I truly loved jesus, I would forgive everyone else for what they did to me coz Jesus asks me to forgive.
