"What seperates GAD from normal worry", is that normal worry has been replace with a "clinical name", which helps salesmen/women like this bozo, sell their service (psychotherapy), or product, as Xanax, Klonopin, and Lorazepam.
Where would we be without them!
Probably where our relatives were before the quick-fixes came about. Before secumming to their self-serving advise, make a life change. (Change jobs, move to a quieter place, or just have a damned beer! PhD= Piled higher & deeper!
@Pastor9764 Well Pastor, I'm a Reverend, who was prescribed anti-anxiety meds (Klonopin then Ativan), for seven years, and never told about the very real hell of coming off of them. Most ant-anxiety meds are from the "benzodiazepine" family, just like good old Valium.
Before you tell someone to shut up, I recommend you (1) give a sermon about manners, and (2) research "Benzodiazepine Withdrawal Syndrome", which very few of these idiots will have you do.
@laaxe You're saying that the fact that there are bad doctors means that psychotropic drugs are all bad. That is not a valid conclusion, period. Don't talk rubbish, then people won't tell you to shut up about issues you obviously have no clue about.
Also, *I* pray for *you*, you presumptuous passive-aggressive miscreant, because I have the much closer connection to God. Nice appeal to authority though, gotta hand it to, you really are a total idiot.
@Pastor9764 And exactly where did I say ALL doctors & psychtropic drugs were bad? Rubbish? By the lack of disclosure of your YT channel, & degree of anger, you're either a salesman or stockholder in pharmaceuticals, or are simply in dire need of an anger management class, as pretty clearly, God & your meds ain't cuttin' it. If there ever were an argument For psychtropics, you're it. Sure, I'm passive aggressive, but you're not? Before this descends further, what makes your experience more valid?
@laaxe Apologies for "psychOtropics", and BTW, I did work adolescent psych for some 7 years following multiple psych classes in college. So I'm very curious as to your qualifications and any civil argument you might have, as you jumped straight to name calling, which tells me I'm arguing with an angry wall.
My initial opinion was that doctors (particularly GP's) too casually prescribe benzodiazepines, without informing their patients about the pretty horrific withdrawal effects. Address that!
well done, top guy, I suffered for two years im from age 20, I have finally got a psychiatrist and am now taking buspirone and starting an antidepressant, what a change for the better!!! god bless medication!!
Notice how hypnotically he speaks about the evils of the "disorder".
