Every channel must provide a 1 hour News program WITHOUT COMMERCIALS. 2. News programs should not be rated by any Ratings system. 3. We watch the Daily Show, because it actually shows things that should be news, and uses satire to spread awareness about current problems. There is nothing wrong with the Daily Show, and it actually is more worth watching than Fox because of it being biased. Not only that, but most of that crap should be hardly considered newsworthy.

It doesn't seem to me that FOX went out of its way to not show the Bush criticism. The point of showing the clip was to get a short laugh, which it did, and it would be a lot to expect of FOX to show the entire context, especially when it crossed commercial break. However, I do have to wonder if there had been criticism of a Democrat if FOX would have gone out of its way to INCLUDE it.

While I appreciate your thorough and eye-opening analyses regarding Fox News bias, I think this video shows very little. Fox took a short, humorous clip with very little political bias. Cutting out unfunny portions of the clip made sense because they weren't necessary to understand the humor. (Another example of biased editing of a Daily Show clip about Obama's medical records, however, is a much better illustration.)

There is no doubt that Fox is biased, but this video doesn't really show that. Editing for time is something that every network does. The clip that they showed is the spirit of Stewart's message, about the Army raising the cutoff age, which even a 10 year old could interpret as being the fault of the Bush administration. How could they have edited the clip to be more clear about that? You've got good ideas but there must be better clips you can find to make your point than this one.

Yes, Fox News is a slanted, unbalanced view of current issues - but it's not their job to push any message that Jon Stewart is trying to get across to his own viewers. We watch the Daily Show, because it actually shows things that should be news, and uses satire to spread awareness about current problems. There is nothing wrong with the Daily Show, and it actually is more worth watching than Fox because of it being biased. Not only that, but most of that crap should be hardly considered newsworthy.
Society needs these shows like the Daily Show, otherwise we'd just get news that is biased and corrupted. Especially that Bill O'Reilly. He's a real piece of work

unfortunately these shows are controlled and use the defense that they are just entertainment. they further the government and political agenda by pretending to be for one thing or another and then ending on an ambiguious note that leaves you baffled as to what their stance may or may not be. i think if it is on tv, its best served with a plate of salt. ps i also dislike jon stewart himself, as a person.

I watch a lot of your videos, and I have to say that this is an example of what is admittedly not a common occurrence for you; reaching too far, and exposing a bit too much of your own bias and hatred of the coporate media machine. Yes, they edit their clips quite often to back the agenda they are pushing. But not in this case. Additionally, I think quite a few of your videos speak for themselves, and your commentary is detrimental to your point.

It doesn't seem to me that FOX went out of its way to not show the Bush criticism. The point of showing the clip was to get a short laugh, which it did, and it would be a lot to expect of FOX to show the entire context, especially when it crossed commercial break. However, I do have to wonder if there had been criticism of a Democrat if FOX would have gone out of its way to INCLUDE it.

While I appreciate your thorough and eye-opening analyses regarding Fox News bias, I think this video shows very little. Fox took a short, humorous clip with very little political bias. Cutting out unfunny portions of the clip made sense because they weren't necessary to understand the humor. (Another example of biased editing of a Daily Show clip about Obama's medical records, however, is a much better illustration.)

There is no doubt that Fox is biased, but this video doesn't really show that. Editing for time is something that every network does. The clip that they showed is the spirit of Stewart's message, about the Army raising the cutoff age, which even a 10 year old could interpret as being the fault of the Bush administration. How could they have edited the clip to be more clear about that? You've got good ideas but there must be better clips you can find to make your point than this one.

It was a blurb on the fox news program.
They mentioned what the military actually did, which was raise the enlistment age, and that is why they segued into the clip about age. Never in my life would i believe id be defending FOX, but you're accusing them of nothing worth accusing. Yes, Fox News is a slanted, unbalanced view of current issues - but it's not their job to push any message that Jon Stewart is trying to get across to his own viewers. They did not cut and paste Stewart's material to change what he meant, they simply used a segment to lighten up whatever the hell they themselves were trying to push.

You are not watching enough tv if you think that is 100% factual. Which is probably a good thing. Not too long ago, I found out that telling half truths about the news is against the law! If you want the true stories on how these news groups report the news...search out their own whistleblowers! There are a lot of them out there, and most of them have the pulse on how certain news groups want to portray the news.
