Try it out, youll never stick your fingers in dove or quail again, unless you shoot them up pretty good. Let me know if it works on duck, I have not tried it on one yet. I am going duck and goose hunting later in November and will try then. Plus I have a Sandhill Crane permit Ill try it on in December. Anyway, glad it does some good for some. Now get out there and shoot something.
Glad to hear it worked for you guys. Its not a 100% full proof method, but compared to how I was taught (old school method, tear it apart.), this is the best method I have used and seen. People thaught I was crazy to do it, now everyone I know that hunts dove, quail even pheasant, does it like this when ever possible. Anyway, have fun with it.
Glad to hear it, it will work on most small to medium birds, Ive heard it works on pheasant too. Ill be trying it on waterfowl and hopefully a goose or two.
Thanks, it works pretty good, Rarely makes a mess. Every now and then we tear one apart, but its better than feathers and guts everywhere. Firm even pulling usually works great. Also works on dove and pheasant, probably on most upland game, gonna try it on ducks this weekend.
Thanks, it also works on dove. I like doing it this way cause you avoid getting all the feathers everywhere especialy on the meat also cuts down on bloody mess. Try it sometime, youll like it, real clean.
we had a native guy workin a our cottage that showed us how to do that with ruffed grouse, doesbt work on geese though, i tried... hard

Well I tried this on about 7 quail this weekend. It is a great method. No mess! I showed it to my kids, the guy I was hunting with and his kids.
Only had 1 bird that had a wing pull off.
thanks again.

.Works perfect on Grouse...very little triming required, and a whole lot less mess. Just put the breast in a zip lock bag & stick em in the cooler.
