Let's focus on being healthy, and our physique goals will fall into place. Instead of focusing on losing weight, let's put nutrients in...and our metabolism and body weight will naturally find a great place.
They said WAIST but they were measuring her HIPS. I am a fashion model... 35" HIPS are the maximum for Europe.. and that's even if you are 5'11". Most girl's business cards (how they are promoted to clients )will say their measurements are bust:34 waist:24 hips:34..... and usually they are lying. Girl's hips are around 35" if they are lucky(starving)... the smallest I ever got mine down to was 35.5" and I weighed about 123lbs and I am 5'9".. and I was still told that was not thin enough.
Yes, I'm not saying the people shouldn't wear makeup or get plastic surgery...its a personal choice. However, I think that plastic surgery should be a decision based on health issues, and not just beacasue people make you feel bad about yourself. Beauty is not only skinny women, not all about a perfect face. It is our flaws that set us apart from others and make us beautiful, unique individuals. Like the expert in the film says, you shouldn't have to fix what isn't wrong.
You may think that plastic surgery is a good thing to boost self esteem but the reason people have no self esteem is because the media portrays beauty as something physically unattainable, in fact, besides being completely made up, models are edited in photos and such to the point where they don't even resemble their real appearance.A pic next to a model in a magazine is going to be an ad for makeup; it makes a girl feel insufficient while showing her a supposed fix for her supposed flaw.
I agree with you in most ways. I just feel, as in my case, I try to reduce my gut with diet, exercise, running etc..and nothing works..I would like to get it sucked out..and no..I dont want to live with it..its all personal choice...but I do agree on people who are fanatical about it.
I made a documentary about the blessings and curses of being a beautiful woman. While the premise of my film was not trying to find a definition of beauty, I accidentally found that our perception of beauty in real life is very different from what is portrayed in the media. I did a whole blog about it in my website. By the way, I found that being "beautiful" is not what it's cracked up to be.
actually if 35" is the maximum for European models, that is a very healthy waist size. Size 8. but that girl who is 6feet tall who wants to lose 15 pounds...get to a doctor...you're nuts.
Hey threefiftythemovie, we made a typo. The waist size posted for Europe is actually the maximum, not the minimum. So it's waist size 35 and under. Thanks for catching that! See you this weekend.

People in the fashion industry should be lined up behind an alley somewhere and shot by fat people.. ^_^ that would solve some of the beauty debates.
