i think that is extremely rude, the whole thing just rude. you say you want to help them but you dont but someday you will? how do you think you can help them and how do they need help?!?! and further more of course Deaf are special in God's eyes, just like all of us. to point the obvious i find to be condesending! and i am sure that they are not sitting around waiting to be made "perfect" as you say. they can be happy now because when they go to heaven god will end their suffering?!?

Thanks for sharing about your complaint process and outcome--is there an article about that somewhere for more information? I had heard that DOJ complaints take forever and do not generally have good outcomes, but it sounds like your experience was positive. I wish NAD (or someone!) would put together a comprehensive guide for making events (entertainment, professional conferences, expos, whatever) deaf-friendly. Anyway, good going!
Yeah, DOJ is a long process and we still haven't heard anything. The other deaf person will contact this week to find out the status.
We just kept pressure on them for the entire year by continuing to write and communicating with the lawyers. It's exhausting and time-consuming, I know - especially when you have no idea what the outcome would be like.
Perhaps you could email NAD with your suggestion - I think it's a great idea!
If I were deaf, I would want other deaf people to have videos telling me about how they cope in terms of getting jobs and adapting to a society of hearing people.
