awesome clip, ive loved this movie even since the 80's when i saw it on cable tv a million times!! Seriously overlooked, the end is a total homage to The Wild Bunch(another amazing movie!!)
When your training in hand-to-hand combat kicks in at just the right moment (even years after the training) it is always a joy to behold - and cherished always!
I know whereof you speak, my brother; having been in far too many situations like this myself (ex-military, US Army, 1971 - 1974, Germany and Panama) - the "Major" has all the right moves! Check out the current situation in Juarez, Mexico to all of you who are un-believers...
The scene could well be called "Amateurs meet professionals"...the film is still one of the all time great action films in American movie history...with a tremendous score by Jerry Goldsmith!.
A truly awesome action movie, very much overlooked. Check out the great shootout at the end...had to be inspired by The Wild Bunch! ...I do like how that Ranger does his thing (this is no time for testimonials to The Ranger!) This, along with Q&A, are Nolte's finest performances.

Some of the best tough guy dialog ever in this film. Even if it is a little tounge in cheek it's still damn entertaining.
