Rhino, great guitarist. This album was the first I heard of him. If you like this, you will love all the Captain Beyond albums. Rhino never got the acclaim he deserved. Captain beyond also had Lee Doorman from this band, along with Rod Evans from Deep Purple and Bobby Caldwell who is the ranks among the best rock drummers. Rhino just released another album using Dickie Bett's band under the name of Rhino's Posse. Kinda like southern rock meets hendrix. He's on facebook and myspace.

I disagree. The best song was In-a-gadda-da-vida and it was also their best album. The Iron Butterfly reached their peak early with the later material in the early / mid '70's lacking definition. Eric Braun was unbeatable on guitar without comparing him to entirely different bands.

I remember meeting Mike at a summer concert nearly 20 years ago. He was billed with, can you believe it, Tiny Tim and playing on a hot summer evening in Louisville, KY. He did all the favorites from Iron Butterfly and Blues Image. After the show, Mike chatted with fans and was very approachable. The kids got autographs and Mike took pictures of fans and their families with his camcorder. It was a great evening that we will never forget.
