What's worse than this is people and their home computers. It's so easy to get the average person to install spyware or malware on their own machine. I see it all the time.

Wow, I had NO IDEA that copiers have a hard drive, why in the world do they need it?! I get the copier needs to run a program but there is absolutely no need to the hard drive to save copies of what people copied, I had absolutely NO IDEA they did this, talk about a HUGE breech in privacy!!!!

Wow this is scary. Stories like this make me happy to pay $10 a month to LifeLock to protect my identity in case my information wind up in a fraudster's hands. I thought I was being safe just shredding my documents....I guess not!

This is one of the reasons identity theft is such a problem...trust no one, you have to do your homework, I am bringing this video to work to show my superiors. I think this is an awesome story would love to find out how they got the heads up to do the story in the first place. We need more stories like this aired to the public.

This is nuts. The operating systems should overwrite the hard drive every 24 hours and put in smaller drives that effectively erase themselves frequently. And, why large hard drives in an age of more energy efficient flash drives?

lol you can just use the wifi in your work to access some copiers/fax machines. then just access the harddrive, most passwords aren't even changed and mostly passes like admin, guest, 12345, 000 etc...so easy. companies really don't give a shit until the law is involved...remember they're just doing their jobs, nothing more.

But to say they are complete unrelated is living on the edge of denial, considering the government, ie: Local police, FBI, hospitals, and the giant bureaucracy that brought you Katrina, the gulf oil spill, and naked body scanners, have a vested interest in your privacy.
