Can be done in 4.3. Jan 15, 2012 it works. I had to get a friend cause I had no haste. Didnt even take a half hour.

this dosnt work for me, they keep dieing at about one second left on the tame, and i gont even get the chance to tame/ress it, with or wihout freezing trap, what am i doing wrong? do i need better haste or something?

It is 11/6/2011. I tried this for three hours. I got the timing perfect on more then one occasion. The bore would die, and wouldn't ding. I would spam revive pet and nothing. I did this a total of 10times and not once did he come back on fire. At this point I have to say with the new build it is impossible. If someone can disprove it let me know.

Just something that might help someone out, if you notice there is a very large hill, freeze a boar next to the trough, climb the large hill about halfway up, drink a haste potion (500 for 15sec), throw torch,fall down tame you will gain about 2-3 sec make sure you spam revive pet the very last sec

It still works, just tamed one with 9s tame cast. Just trap a boar and find max. taming range, if the torch lands with 7s left on the tame, you're on the right track. I had 3-4 of those, but lost the flame effect because i revived to slow at first.

I'm not sure if this still works. I can make the tame finish just as the boar dies and there is no Level Up animation and i instantly hit Revive pet, but when it revives it's just a normal boar =/. Is there anyone that has done it recently, within the last 5 days or so?

Got mine today, took forever. Don't go into Arenas with unique skins like this, the Lone Hunter, and oiled birds and wolves. They will lose their unique skins.

Flaming Armored Battleboar is still tamable, I tamed it in the last hour but I didn't solo it. I had help from my side account, whom threw the torch.

Not true, it just takes really good timing.

I did this at lvl 42 with 0 Haste solo.

I think I found a really easy way to do it, I ran about 70 yards back, threw the torch and then ran forward to the exact spot I would be in range to Tame and started to cast on a Boar near the trough.

Even though the boar started running to me and was no where near the trough when the torch landed, he still caught on fire (at this time I had about 5 seconds left on Tame). Spam revive as it ends.

they still haven't removed the glitch yet, but i wont promise it will last after the next patch, i can still say you can get this guy, got him today on fire, it took alongggg time though, then i used an ice trap and on my 2nd try it worked
