My Grandfather(Herman Henderson) was a Montford Pointer as well. Before he passed he use to always say "I fought for this country only to come back to still be a Nigger"
As a retired marine you should have been honored long ago.I am glad to see you folks were finally recognized for your service to our country and corps. It is a disgrace that it took so long.SEMPER FI
My uncle Thomas Ravenell and his neighbor Ellis Cunningham were Montford Point Marines (Charleston SC). Both are deceased, both were in WWII,Korean War and Vietnam. My uncle retired during the Vietnam war and participated in the Cuban Missle Crisis. Mr Cunningham is a charter member of the Montford Point Marine Association. CPL Hawk 1/6 2nd Marine Division PG County Police (ret) Maryland. Semper-FI. I also know some members of Chapter 6 in Washington DC. Especially Sam Saxton and Gene Doughtery
My Grandfateher was a Montford Pointer in the 1940's. I followed his footsteps after noticing an Eagle Globe and Anchor tattoo on his forearm and spent 21 wonderful years as a Marine. Oh forgot to mention my grandfathers name. James Smith (Norfolk Virginia Deceased)

My Grandpa was apart of the Montford Point Marines. Happy Birthday Papa(Herman Henderson) R.I.P. and thank you to all of the men, including my papa who fought for this country.
My dad was a Montford Point Marine who served 1944-46. He attended the Annual Montford Point Marines Annual Association Meeting when held in Vegas. He passed on February 25, 2001: Norman Dukette Jones
Black Beachhead warriors of Saipan, Guam, Tinian, Peleliu, Iwo Jima and Okinawa. As fighting shore parties, supply ammo, help remove wounded fellow Marines...and other dirty- details. I wish Hollywood would make a movie about it.. Semper-Fi Carry On.
