  • R.I.P. Lynn Davis "Buck" Compton (December 31, 1921 – February 25, 2012)

1st Lieutenant, Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, United States Army

  • This guy just seems like a nice, genuine human being.

  • What a good guy. You don't see many people in Hollywood like this anymore.

  • I started listening to BOB Interviews on Black Sky Radio where Veterans and Actors are interviewed every week and I have to say that I was and I always am so impressed by them. And Neal is one of the most grateful actors I've ever listened to!

  • thank you sir!!!

  • "I can't even begin to describe how proud I am to even be in the same breath as these guys."

Much respect to this guy for saying this, these days a lot of people honor actors more than most others, so it's good to see the honest admiration and respect from this guy.

    CURRAHEE!

  • Syracuse Univ. hasn't had a baseball team since 1966. I remember (class of 82) there were baseball "clubs". I wonder if he meant he played on those.

  • Neil and Buck rules.

  • Band of Brothers is the greatest mini series ever made. I must've seen it around 15 - 20 times by now. The book is awesome too!!! I love it!

  • @skeetabix36 i totally agree :D its amazing to say the leats ,right now im doing my hostory project for school on easy company :D

  • 3 people (at this point) obviously haven't seen Band of Brothers. Shame on you! =)

  • Buck the best! I love as he gets speechless sometimes, especially in BoB, amazing actor

  • I love him....been one of my fav actors ever since Band of Brothers. I loved reading Buck's memoir and his afterward. In fact, I almost cried reading it, along with the part in the chapter where Buck talks about meeting Neal for the first time. I would love to meet both of these guys someday soon.

  • Well done Neil. You did a superb job playing a real american hero. God bless you buck...I mean Neil.

  • its funny how he looks more like a young winters than buck.

  • Cheers for posting this - a company of heroes!

  • Brothers in Battle

Best of Friends.......name of wild bills and heffrons book..!!!

  • Anybody from easy company would be a life changing experience if interviewed..Buck Compton is a admirable guy after watching the movie especially how he excelled after the war after the hardships he went thru seeing what he did in bastogne. There will never be a generation like those men

  • I waish I had an oppertunity to meet the legendary Lynn "Buck" Compton. I have read his book about 5 times over because I love him and Neal. I respect him and made this account in his honor and dedication, also going to Neal. Going to the men to the rest of the war also. All of these brave men. These men who shall be remembered in the world until the ending, these lucky few, these band of brothers. Thank you for posting this video.

  • I had the opportunity to meet Buck. I got to sit down over lunch and talk about his doings in Easy Co. and whatnot. He is truly the most humble person I have ever met. He goes by Buck, and if you call him Mr.Compton, he'll correct you. Buck is really an American hero. He wont let you call him a hero, but ladies and gentlemen, he is the real deal. God bless Buck and all of those who give their lives to keep us safe every day.

  • ahahah dumbass.

  • If u nottised in BoB that "Bull" the guy who protraded him was Hawk in Call of Duty 2: Big Red One

  • The sparkle in his eye when he mentions boot camp is so cute! FYI: the BOB actors meet every year, just like the real Easy Co. guys they portray.

  • Thank you so much for letting us know the actors meet like the real men.

This is really a life changing movie.

I believe this is phenomonely the best mini series ever made.

Listen to this amazing interview without watching. It really sinks in.

Thanks for the thumbs up mr McDonough.

  • Im currently reading a book, written by Guarnere and Heffron.

    Really people, read it!

It tells you so much more than the movie shows you, and even the movie was awesome and shows you how tough the training and war was for them, but reading the things that are not in the movie, and written by the true heroes, its so interesting :)

  • whats it called

  • I will be getting that book, when i can....

  • hes in desperaate housewives

  • ^.^ AWESOME!!! Buck I liked...LOVED how he played Buck.

  • It'd be cool if Neal was on NCIS, he could play Tony Dinozzo's brother or cousin. They look alot alike.

  • winters, buck, guarnere, malarkey, and lipton are the best characters

  • Yes very great and interesting interview. The Buck Compton life is very interesting and Neal is equal to himself and always a true guy which is not rotten by the middle where he works. He has the values and a common sense. This interview is a great pleasure. thanks for posting

  • Thank you so much for posting this great interview. It's rare to find such gems nowadays, and this was a wonderful one. :)

  • Great interview! I read Buck Compton's book Call of Duty and enjoyed reading about his life before, during and after WWII, he has had such an interesting life. Neal McDonough is one of my favorite actors and after seeing this interview my respect and admiration for him has increased tremendously. He seems like a real down to earth normal guy, and he has the most gorgeous eyes to boot!
