You know, until I heard this song today, I never really understood why so many TMG fans liked it so much, but after falling in love and doing long distance, I finally really understand and connect to it. Even when I do meet someone who "likes" The Mountain Goats or listens to them, there's always this moment where I get SO excited and clasp their hands in mine and expect basically that they hold John Darnielle in as high esteem as I do (which is like spot #1 in my list of life-changing people) and... they always say something like, "Oh, yeah they're pretty good." Or, "Who's John Darnielle?"
