Excuse me, but HOlland and netherlands are not synonymous= same..... If you know the dutch history holland used to be a region in the Netherlands. So if you say: i'm from holland, you arent actually saying that you are from the Netherlands but more from that region in the Netherlands. But since, most people in the world know the word" holland" better than "the Netherlands" we now just keep it that way.
