@jscoops99. I curl the hair from the bottom first, when I get to the top I tease first then curl.... Then smooth out the teasing lightly... That's for more loose wavy curls.....for tighter curls I curl first the tease where it needs a little more volume. Hope that isnt too confusing lol

Thank you for this amazing tip. My hair length and volume is pretty much the same as yours and i hate that when i do straighten it it just goes all flat and looks lifeless. This tip is really useful and it is quick to do. I ll just make sure that my husband is not in the same room while i'm teasing my hair up :)

Does this last all day, w/ just the little bit of backcombing you do? I find mine looks good for about an hour- if that- then it just falls flat. no matter how many time I try to "poof" it up w./ my fingers, and even backcombing TWICE as much as you do, it still doesn't work! Is it just my hair? Or am I doing something wrong? I do EXACTLY as you do... I've tried for YEARS to get big hair. I even have lots of layers, so the length doesn't weigh it down and still no luck :(

but then i got a proper thin comb with the teeth really close together, i back combed like hell, had a strong hairspray and i looked like a lion!!!!!!! but then if i combed it down to much, it just went limp and went flat, so i used my brush to smooth it over a tiny bit, sprayed hairspray again and voila!!!!!!!!!!!

Mariadelmarvelez- are you using a teasing comb? Also make sure you are using a firm hold hairspray. The teasing will take some practice but if you do it exactly like I do it will stay :) good luck!

@5lejla5 yes you can fan back the bangs with a curling iron. I prefer a flat iron but if you use the curling iron just don't curl it too much.. U may get more of a Farrah fawcett look ;)

Yes, best volume video ever - why? Because the hair actually looks more voluminous after the technique. SO many of these videos about volume don't give the hair ANY additional volume. What's up with that.  Very nice of you to share your pro tips.
