A definite "gem' of a track.... from a vastly underrated album...IMHO. A Killer tune that I've always loved....ever since buying the vinyl album. : ) Thanks 4 the upload. Very much appreciated.
Even Ozzy at one time had disdain for the album. It was recorded in Toronto in the middle of winter and the band was coked right out. but when it boils down, this is one great album!! Yeah Sabbath!!
I was 15 year old when BS's first album was released. I followed their career though up to their 5th album. Recently I bought a double CD colletanea of their best songs and for the first time I heard this song. The colletanea is very good and most of the songs are from the first 5 albuns. I can tell however that A Hard Road caught me by surprise! The guitar riff, Ozzy's double vocal and the unique chorus at the end makes it the best song I know from Sabbath!
Yes I LOVE this album myself as well as Vol 4 Sabbath Bloody Sabbath Technical Ecstasy and Master of Reality The best years of Sabbath were the first 8 albums and the two with Dio IMO.
@Amorto1000 the mistake you made is after Ozzy left, Sabbath wasnt Sabbath. They should have been called Heaven and Hell from the outset. It is impossible to compare the two. If all four original members didnt start the band, Dio wouldnt have even played with them in the first place, so to compare them is ridiculous. Plus, by 1980 when Dio joined, there were lots of other innovative bands around, Sabbath were the first true heavy band to actually make an impact.
APOTHEOSIZOR'S WIZARD,ABSURURABO,TURNED ME ONTO THIS SONG BACK IN 006 WHEN I WAS OBLIVIOS TO THE WORLD AROUND ME AND STUDYING EARTH MAGICK.YES IT IS A HARD ROAD BUT 2012 IS ARRIVING IMMINENTLY AND KILLING JOKE IS RELEASING THEIR SOUNDTRACK TO THE 'CACLYSMIC EVENTS"[OR NOT} +LONG LIVE SQUIBAH=IYTS TRIABOLICAL! By the time this record came out Ozzy had essentially 'calmed down,' re-found his unique voice, and the band was at their best as usual. A brilliant yet dark record. Love it.
The folks who said this album was bad are the same people who said The Elder was terrible; folks who make judgements solely on bias and don't even bother to actually give the songs a chance. Pricks.
@GabriHell23 Also, don't know if you knew this, but this is the only known recorded song is history where Tony Iommi contributes any type of vocal. The singing in the chorus is mostly him
All of todays singers have such boring monoshite autotuned voices, ozzy's voice had fucking character, no one can sing like he can. If modern chart music was an object, I would break it.

@stezyrezy Sheep shagger! I was working in a record shop in Pontypridd when this album came out and would then go head-banging in Cardiff (Smiley's nightclub). Cymru ac Sabbath am byth!

@SD1Chargers Sounds like good times.I crank this album up on my turntable in my basement on Fridays before football.I'm 17 by the way and I love this album.
A motherfucking MASTERPIECE, i can't believe this album wasn't appreaciated a its moment..
Even if you don't consider this song, and the album not so HEAVY as Sabbath normally sounds, you can notice something, its one of the best ROCK Albums ever to exist.
You can realize that Black Sabbath is not only the Best Heavy Metal Band (besides the first), but also the Best Rock Band EVER.
The proof you have it here in youtube, even the "worst album of Sabbath", is one of the best albums to ever exist.
@00JesusChrist ...agreed even ozzy stated that he hated this alblum...I disagree...each sabbath alblum is different and unique...this alblum is the top three of sabbath's collection to me...my father passed away the same year this came out...this alblum got me through a depression I hope no one ever has to expierience....to tony, geezer ,ozzy and bill... thank you fellas ,seriously thank you

with everything that is happening today it is like this song reminds us that in the end everything is going to be okay this song has a valuable message with a positive meaning, & fun to ROCK to. Too bad this song was never included with guitar hero
I know Ozzy worshiped the Beatles, and this song reminds me of both "She Said She Said," and "Rain" in the very best ways...I can hear Lennon's influence in Ozzy's singing, and I'm sure Lennon was fond of their music, he had a wide and varied taste.
@timmycrw91 Because radio BLOWS! Has for over 20 years! Hasn't been a good METAL playing station, in a long time. Corporations own it all, and tell you what to like. That is why you are here, listening to this. It is your way of telling the mind-controlling Mother Fuckers to KISS YOUR ASS! `Nuff said.
@Metal1998 to be fair, saying it's black sabbaths (with ozzy) worst album is like saying 5 blow jobs is worse than 10 blow jobs. IT'S STILL 5 BLOW JOBS
