I love it. Excellent scenary. Congrats on the acting, playing, directing and creativity ! Keep on the great work ! This is also an excellent tutorial, slow playing and your moves, way to go to learn from it.
Hi ! Thanks for your positive comment ; it means a lot to me . Your reactions to the movements and their stylization was especially useful because it shows that viewers are able to see the broader structures through the movements as much as the sounds.
Thanks for your comment ; seeing I never watch MTV , I don't know whether it's a compliment or a criticism (or just an observation) - do you mean that it seems like a music video ? In that case, it's a great compliment.
By saying this you confirm the traditions I am bringing into question. And this is also the most restrained of the five! By being upset enough by the 'inappropriate' movements [in this case influenced by Javanese dance] to leave a comment, you demonstrate how deeply restrictive to bodily motion and expression the classical music tradition actually is.
In making this film I'm thumbing my nose at a music which is associated with notation as the restrictive 'grammar' of musical expression and also its terrible elitism.
The question is that, at least for me, it felt like you were, actually, trying to "feel" too much the song, just like the "classic tradition" says to. :/
This film is the first in a series of five ; as the first film it is intended to be abstract, refined and unemotional ; each step on the journey is intended to add emotion to this abstracted opening, moving through high passion to ultimate exhaustion in metamorphosis five . These emotions, of course, are intended to appear artificial. If you thought the first film contains emotion then it was unsuccessful in communicating the way I wanted it to. There is nothing I can do about that.
On rereading your comment , the film communicated well ! The idea of these films is to point at the traditions by exaggerating the movements - yes , in some ways it's supposed to look I'm 'feeling' it [when in fact the movements are refined]. If you watch the other films in the series, you'll see this more - it gets more 'emotional' with every film. Thanks again for your comment. Z

(But it was well-played, though :))
