It's sad how you protray the cowboy way of life! Our horses are treated better than ourselves. It's a sad day to see an amazing animal die, but in NO WAY is this the rodeo's or cowboy's fault. Rodeo livestock are treated very well, better than most treat other human beings. The horse was tied so the thrashing would not hurt anyone. These cowboys acted very humane to this horse. I will agree with wcjosh93 i have seen cowboys and girls go hungry because they buy feed for the horses. Rodeos have vets on stand by as well. The horses are well cared for they are treated better than kids its how they make money. In Cheyenne, yes this is the case but this is not the case in all rodeos. How many still have the wild horse race, steer tripping or any of the other altrenitive events. Most just have the calf roping, team roping, barrel racing, bull riding, bronc/bearback riding and steer wresaling and I for one have to say I have seen more men hurt/killed then livestock because of rodeos. I have seen one calf hauled out of the arena thats it.

Yes, accidents happen, however, not in rodeo anymore. As we've said, people, even semi-intelligent people, learn from accidents and work to prevent them. Rodeo does not. Nothing changes and more animals are injured and even killed.
I have had a horse flip over on me before and thank god he didn't hit his head or get injured and that I wasn't injured but it happens. It was an accident and so was this. These things happend but they are not intended to, I didn't see any abuse in this video; I saw a horse loose its balance, which happens, they rushed to him so that they could get him hobbled and out of the arena so a vet could examine him. It would be abuse if they intended him to get critically injured/killed.

Wow i cannot believe this happens. I was watching a clip on Sunrise(Australia) the other day about how a man can convince a horse to allow him to ride them in 3 hours. I say convince, because he doesn't break the horse. He only goes as far as the horse will let him. Then you see stuff like this in America. It was not a head injury, it broke his neck. Up at the poll. Heart breaking. I had a horse to break his neck with me in a freak accident. The quivering body is the shock as the spinal cord is damaged and the body is shutting down, paralyzed.
The horse in this video died from the way he fell on the back of his head. It would cause a break of the axis joint at the base of the skull just like it would in a human. Come on people... believe it or not there are laws and regulations that govern what we can and can't do in rodeos. And animal welfare is the number one concern and priority. If you notice... there is nothing that keeps the animals from killing US. The owners of these animals pay tens to hundreds of thousands for these animals!

Have you ever worked with a large animal before?
In Cheyenne, yes this is the case but this is not the case in all rodeos. How many still have the wild horse race, steer tripping or any of the other altrenitive events. Most just have the calf roping, team roping, barrel racing, bull riding, bronc/bearback riding and steer wresaling and I for one have to say I have seen more men hurt/killed then livestock because of rodeos. I have seen one calf hauled out of the arena thats it.

I have had a horse flip over on me before and thank god he didn't hit his head or get injured and that I wasn't injured but it happens. It was an accident and so was this. These things happend but they are not intended to, I didn't see any abuse in this video; I saw a horse loose its balance, which happens, they rushed to him so that they could get him hobbled and out of the arena so a vet could examine him. It would be abuse if they intended him to get critically injured/killed.

It was not a head injury, it broke his neck. Up at the poll. Heart breaking. I had a horse to break his neck with me in a freak accident. The quivering body is the shock as the spinal cord is damaged and the body is shutting down, paralyzed.

The horse in this video died from the way he fell on the back of his head. It would cause a break of the axis joint at the base of the skull just like it would in a human. Come on people... believe it or not there are laws and regulations that govern what we can and can't do in rodeos. And animal welfare is the number one concern and priority. @TheGRIZZLY1122 Rodeo knows this event injures and kills horses, yet it still purposely puts the horses through it. So, yes, the harm is on purpose.

i bet you have never gone to a rodeo dude, think about this what will get hurt the most a 400+ pound bull or a 200 or less man, think about that Dumb ass!!! this horse died due to a heart attack nothing that could foreseen coming so get your F**King fact's straight before saying it's animal cruelty because in fact it isn't if you want animal cruelty have alook at the bull fighters in Spain rodeo's are nothing like that!!!

I know you can't stop the rodeo but it's the people that need to get hurt NOT the animals. :). Did you ever hear a horse say I think I'll go rope a person to day stupid ass

@JimBeam22 oh yeah no one could foresee a horse that has been trapped and terrified into bucking with straps and spurs could have a heart attack. I bet you would have a heart attack if someone did something like this to you. Especially if you didnt have the mental capacity to understand what was going on
