@Cooperphile - Ah. I had always heard that it was a pretentious waste of ink. One of the books that I gratefully did not have to read in high school. Have you read it? Is it really worth avoiding? I've missed some real crap-fests by paying attention to the high school scuttlebutt - The Shipping News comes to mind. Somehow "The Iceman Cometh" slipped through, though; what a pile.
