@bennyK95 The fugue is played without looking, the prelude is played looking. If you study Baroque style music and Bach then you will find that the fugue is meant for voices and the keyboard [pianos were not yet widly used], however the prelude is used to show off the pianists ability.
Ah the things you learn through Music appreciation.....
@HannahShen12 Well played, however as people have said you may want to work on your posture and form and possibly slow it down.
@thetrueladylilac ah, and @bennyK95 I should likely throw in that the piece is a cantava, thus why it is structured the way it is. Not all Baroque period music is like the above video.
And with the fugue, if you speed it up to maybe 66 or 69 BPM, it'll flow much more smoothly, and you'll be able to feel the meter by the quarter note like it's supposed to be, not by eighth or sixteenth (And my teacher pointed that out to me just earlier TODAY when I played the fugue for her.)
Overall, great technique and facility! I hope you develop these pieces very musically. They may sound "simpler" than others, but are actually GREAT for competitions when are executed very well.
And I don't play the prelude that fast, but that's okay if you do-just personal taste.
My constructive criticism on the prelude is this: I would try to make the prelude more musical-shape phrases, emphasize the interplay between left hand and right hand, and use more dynamic contrast. Heck, throw in some pedaling, too! I'm sure that if Bach had a modern instrument at his disposal, he would have used dynamics and pedaling.
Bach did write the WTC for the harpsichord, and it had no sustain pedal. What I meant was that IF HE DID have a modern piano to compose on, he probably would have used the sustain pedal, so that's why I suggest playing around with the pedal a little bit in Bach pieces. If you don't like it, you don't have to do it, but I think it adds a little bit of color.
Sorry OrangeSodaKing, I didn't read carefully enough. In hindsight I must confess: I fully agree with you. That's sorted out then, hopefully?
You are so right. If Bach would have been able to use present-day instruments, he would have switched to them immediately. Isn't it wonderful that we can fantasize about what his music would sound these days? And we have great interpreters who do this for us. Hannah will hopefully be one of them!
Great job...Very impressive :-) 5 stars. You need to sit a little higher on the bench. You arms should never be angled upwards. You can get an adjustable bench or sit on a book :-)
Hey teacher, look at her back. What are you doing?

Stevie Wonder body movement + playing Bach has never appealed to me personally. But nice passion though.

Bach is not a happily dancing fast-fingered showing off person i suppose (:
you might enjoy the excitement of speeding up, but don't forget that there should still be music inside ,will you:)
pretty good though. you must've worked real hard to gey that fast.

bad performence!!!
1, I'ts not a competition (try to play the piece in one tempo)
2, Bach is also music, try to show it
3, Listen to some good pianists, there you can get the music that Bach wrote!!!

I agree with you.
And music is also not a matter of looking at the keys or not.

I agree with OrangeSodaKing's comments except for the pedal.
The instrument that Bach probably wrote his WTC for was the harpsichord. It may have had one or two keyboards but certainly no pedal.
See if you can find Glenn Gould using anything but his voice to support Bach's compositions.
Nice work Hannah!

Why is everyone harping on her posture? If she can play so well sitting like that, I think she should be entitled to do so.
