  • In my opinion, racoon are friendly. They always try to avoid from cats but maybe cuz they're stealer so that's why cats don't like them as a friend. Maybe.

  • raccoon: what?!!!!

    cat: ima fuck you up!!!

  • My pit bull Bella, saved my kitty. She loves cats, sleeps with them shit like that. One time two HUGEraccons cornered my cat, and Bella grabbed one by the neck and shook it to death, the other one she flung across the yard so hard it broke the fence. She's the best, and so sweet to everything, unless it try to hurt our cats ;)

  • My cat chased a really big male raccoon up a tree. I was scared because I'd heard of racoons being chased by 'coon dogs turning and really messing up a dog, but it was just a stand-off. I guess they can gauge the degree of threat.

  • RACCOONS DON'T CARRY RABIES!!! They are sometimes affected by rabies and can spread them when affected just like any other animal. If a raccoon is out in the daytime it doesn't mean it has rabies. Less than 1/2 of a percent of raccoons have rabies. When an animal gets rabies they are very ill and aren't actively looking for someone to bite. Most will lay down and die. The foaming out of the mouth Cujo is a myth.

  • The territory theory is bullshit! A raccoon is simply a more passive animal that will always back down from an adult cat. I have seen cats scratch and chase racoons and I never once saw a racoon chase or attack a cat. The racoon will run away at first scratch or hiss. I've seen scrawny alley cats chasing raccons twice their size.

  • @john17972 exactly!

  • I had a cat that was attacked by a coon right in front of our garage door. She was at the vet for a month, lost her front leg, had her facial bones shattered, and there is something called coon fever. She survived and lived for ten happy years, but I am no longer a fan of coons.

  • why not shoot raccoon

  • @glycar why not shoot your mom?

  • sweet

  • It really amazes me how many people are terrified of raccoons.

  • You can tell that the cat is not even the slightest bit in a defending/fighting mood. She's totally comfortable with the situation. Cat language is pretty easily learned so whoever felt that the cat was in any kind of jeopardy here - not to worry. She absolutely knows what she's doing

  • Your cat may have been confident, however those racoons can kill and eat your cat...

  • NO animal carries rabies. They either have it or they don't. Once exposed to rabies they are a danger to everything, including people. In order to carry a disease, the infected have to survive it and then transmit it. There are no survivors of rabies, therefore, no carriers. The only way to prevent it is by vaccination. Once symptoms manifest themselves, it is to late. No treatment is possible. This is true for people as well as animals. Rabies series must be started quickly if bitten.

  • wow. that cat has no idea how scared he should be. it's like me stalking mike tyson or something (and 2 of them!)

  • brave kitty

  • gross title!!!!

  • Raccoons can rip a cat to shreads. I almost lost a cat to a raccoon encounter. Keep your cat away from raccoons. Raccoons also can carry diseases.

  • @vitoamadore thats why they have hounds

  • good kitty! it did that because it knew that what it was protecting was it's source of food(the house and you guys)! pets aren't as stupid as we think they are! :))

  • That cat is awesome! My cat is as big as them raccoons, just imagine what that bloodthirsty monster would do!

  • Wow! Such a brave cat! It could have been bit by the raccons and start a life-death battle! Even though that racoon was scared of the cat, it could have had a deadly dieses! Well, i dont know........anyways good vid!

  • Cats and raccoons are smart. They won't get into any fights that might leave one of them dead and the other not much better off unless they have no other choice.

  • that's a big kitty

  • Wow! And racoons can be very agressive! people even run away from them!

  • Raccoons are smart enough to know better NOT to mess with an exttremely versatile power package of nails and fangs that is even able to drive off an adult black bear.

  • My cat has attacked Raccoons at least three times that I've seen, and they run like a bat out of Hell when he does. They just don't have the agility to hope to cope with a cat.

  • if that was my dog he'd kill them so fast.

seriously he kills so many rodents and possums and what not. then he brings them to me as a present. lol

  • @mariopowah my dogs the same, but unno I hard raccoons are vicious little bastards when it comes down to it, they can scar up even the meanest dog.

  • that sounds liek a nice present.. dead possums..............

  • @mariopowah lol ya my lazy fat dog would only ever kill birds was afraid of bigger things

  • my dogs do that with cats.... 7 graves so far

They even developed a pack strategy for cornering them.

  • Most predators ignore each other. There's no percentage in attacking something that can inflict serious damage on you. The exception are pack predators (lions, hyenas, wolves, etc..) They will attack and kill other predators as a way of removing competition (such kills are almost never eaten)

  • It is a depending matter.

A Puma will kill anything it can get its paws on, including bears and wolves. Grisly bears will kill other bears and wolves. Don't want to see what happens when the two cross each other. But I'll give you a hint, Puma always wins. Why? Only needs one bit at the neck and it wins, because its teeth are designed like a fucking vampire to tear to flesh, but even more specifically to dislocate the spine, although it can just put at the wind pipe and rip it open.

  • The thing is Raccoons are very intelligent so if they learn how to fight well they will be skilled at it. But the intelligence also usually means they pick their battles. They generally won't actively hunt a cat because it will cost them some unnecessary pain. Also I have known cats that do win the battle (though can be in a bad way afterwards). When someone said "pound for pound", I would agree the fight can actually be pretty close. Usually the raccoon is larger when they kill cats or kittens.

  • BS

my cat has to deal with those fuckers every day - i have seen it face down 2 racoons at the same time

i freaked out and kicked theyr ass that time but usualy hes got it by himself ;)

  • yo i never seen a cat even get that close to a raccoon befor a raccoon will fuck a cat up i know that for sure becuse a cat cannot hurt a coon but a coon can kill a cat

  • that was funny comment custer probably he said that cause he's fat and said it as sarcasm

  • pound for pound a cat will win??? you obviously have never been around a raccoon in your entire life!!! go watch your soaps and pet your lap cat you idiot!

  • Your right, but LOOK HOW FAT THAT CAT IS! LOL - When Custer264 said pound for pound, he meant it.

  • That's sort of what I was thinking (except the soaps bit.) I've NEVER seen a raccoon turned away by a mere cat before. Shoot, I've never seen a dog beat a raccoon, either, for that matter.

  • Yeah but we're talking about a house cat not a meerkat. House cats are larger than meerkats. Ha, ha, okay I'm just messing with you I know what you meant but I couldn't resist.

  • pound for pound a cat will win...

  • Yeah keep thinking that. LMAO

  • @custer264 raccoons dont have claws or teeth they have razorblades for both... if a cat were ever to attack a raccoon, it would be the same as putting your cat in a nice sized paper shredder. raccoons dont fuck around...

  • @EFFFINGJOSH That funny!! Thanks for the laugh, lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Racoons are awesome i know people that used to own a couple

  • Besides, isnt it obvious when an animal has rabies? The raccoon seems normal. No way it's rabid.

  • Ya it just seems that 90% of people on youtube are retarded and don't know anything about rabies or anything else for that matter.

  • You really risked having your cat getting bit? Why not just scare them away and avoid rabies.

  • They had been around and remained healthy. The raccoons and the cat knew each other. They weren't likely to have a big fight.

  • lol 0:57 the racons like "GASP"

  • straight bitches

  • Thank you for sharing this awesome footage, and also providing background information on this amazing creature.I just uploaded a humorous vid yesterday of the gang of raccoons who repeatedly raid my cats' dish everyday and night,I wanted to show them in a lighthearted humorous way, hope u love the vid I created.Thanx again!!! ^___^

  • They are skinned alive in China for fur, you see people wearing fur trim of them everywhere, poor creatures.

  • If you had nice fur I'd expect you to be skinned for it too.

  • O.O

  • Most animals are smart enough only to fight when they have to. They also understand territory, and only violate it when they're really hungry. Both cats and raccoons are well-equipped to cause injury if they want to, but usually, they don't want to.

  • @hollykainz unlike humas

    lmao

  • @dalihendrix Like the car? It's spelled Hummer....

  • I wonder if people realize what a moron using that kind of language makes them look like. Get a life!

  • fuck u all my raccon could tear the shit outta ur cats

  • I know for a FACT one of my cats would take these coons on...she's HELLA territorial. She's constantly beating up on the new kitten in the house...not sure the other two...they'd stand their ground for sure though

  • dude my cat would of smashed on that Coon if she where to see him :P

  • Its Sad How They Can Get There Animal hurt By not stopping things like this

  • The raccoons came by ever so often. I think they were young siblings. The cat and raccoons were familiar with each other and very curious. Don't think they planned any fighting.

  • makailgingis - there is a reason that pet cats are victims of raccoons more often than feral cats. Pet animals lose a lot of their natural instincts.

  • raccoons always make that face...they either want to play...run away...or attack...you don't know...

  • i would assume the cat is in real danger due to the Fact raccoons are wild animals who carry rabies

  • These had been around off and on and appeared very healthy

  • @IrenaScott lol yeah until something happens

  • I agree...raccoons are critters who are very curious...they don't like to fight...but can be vicious if provoked...

  • Bats are actually the leading carrier of rabies. Raccoons don't have rabies as often as people think they do. Its the fact that you're highly unlikely to see the HEALTHY raccoons in your area that makes people believe that rabid raccoons are in surplus.

  • Yes, best keep cats away form raccoons. Not only is rabies a danger, but racoons can be infected with the baylisascaris procyonis (racoon roundworm) parasite. Raccoons are immune to these parasites but in other species, these parasites can reside in the intestinal tract and migrate to other internal organs. They tend to attack the liver, eyes, spinal cord or the brain resulting in many symptoms, from eye and brain damage to severe neurological impairment and behavioral changes.

  • Don't believe the hype. Not ALL raccoons, or wild animals for that matter carry rabies...

  • Did Abe Zabruder film this video?

  • Cats become fearless when protecting their young. My cat made a huge racoon back down yesterday when it got too close to one of her kittens.

  • wonder how fearless they'd be against a pack of pitbulls?

  • Well...my cat did fuck up a dog...2 times 3x its size. Now...get back to your dog fighting, dick shit.

  • ill kill u

  • I wonder how fearless your Pitbull is against a Leopard. If you are going to compare your dog to a cat make sure it is on a size per size basis. the only difference between a housecat and a Tiger is its size. Same with dogs. No Dog could beat a Cat on a similar size basis.

  • Hyena.

  • Wonder how fearless a pitbull would be with a 357 mag bullets stuck in his head ?

  • How fearless would YOU be against a pack of pitbulls, dipshit?

  • How fearless would that PITBULL be against a pride of lions, dipshit?

  • Maybe still fearless (or stupid), but also quite...dead.

  • The raccoon may know that the cat is the owner's pet...and doesn't want to mess around...

Raccoons are cool animals...and should be respected...

  • i might have to commit suicide because i had to listen to that music for 2 minutes and 15 seconds

  • The music was the best thing about the video

  • Whats the cats name, Tiny? lol. He looks about the size of my cat...17-18 pounds, a real porker.

  • I felt like I was watching a cutsecene from some RPG with that music.

  • That cat doe snot know how close is was to death.

Racoons often kill dogs 3-5x's their size.

They love to go for the juggler.

  • if there WAS a fight, I'd bet my cash on the coon

  • the coon couldeasily tear that cats ass up

  • Raccoons just like: "Hey, fatass, put the food bowl down! Yeah, I'm talkin' to you! Oh, what, you gonna chase me? Yeah, I doubt that, fatass!" XD

  • What's up with that house. Is that a meth lab? Human beings don't actually live there do they?

  • Farm house, meth labs hide things.

  • that's so cute, you have a fat kitty there, I love cats and racoons.

  • hey wana know the most graphic thing ive ever seen? i saw a cat get ripped open and eaten alive thats graphic

  • Awesome. I heard a guy get cut half by an elevated train. I couldn't look at him though. I turned my head away.

  • The Coon looks thirsty, I would put out a nice dish of antifreeze.

  • I would too....but for the cat

  • you and ftthefarmer are a couple of old redneck fucks....I'd pour antifreeze down your throat

  • omg your poor kitty I hope the rabies shots are up to date :(

  • They were and the cat and raccoons knew each other a little - or at lease saw each other off and on.

  • There's a story on the net where a family of raccoons were systematically killing all the cat in a Florida neighborhood. Raccoons were protecting what they considered to be their turf.

    Google it.

  • a deer LOL

  • agree V

  • A raccoon came in my yard and tore my cat up. The vet said most cats don't survive a tangle with a coon and mine was lucky. I was also lucky my cats rabies were up to date or the vet would have had to kill him.

  • oh very sorry to hear that...... : ( but I'm sure the coon didn't get away clean.......

  • Never make eye contact with a cat. Soo funny! That is true about fox's and other wild animals having diseases! Where I live there was an outbreak of rabid fox's biting people and pets.

  • wow

  • I think that the 3 animals had some sort of an understanding there.

  • They had been around each other - but didn't know exactly how to react.

  • i want a raccon =(

  • You go, kitty! Defend your home! Ah, drama, and to one of my favorite Bach organ pieces, perfect for Christmas!

  • lazy ass cat you got there..mine takes on bears and shit..one time ,i remeber in 1991 or was it 2001...my cat rolled and wresteld with a 9 feet tall humongos alaskan white bear...i was ofcorse ready with 38.snub..but all went like i planned ...thats still a pretty cute cat you got ...i hope one day he or she will have more gourege to take on you nebghor hood raqoon ! wish you good luck and happy new year soon ! good day mate !

  • So true. Plus the wild animal could easily have some form of rabies which cn infect your pet and later spread to your children and soon after turning the entire township into a raging flock of zombies! Duh! You should consider that sometime and stop being so darn selfish with your interesting videos and such. Geez

    Yup-hes-right

  • You know, all I can think is that people shouldn't be filming these things but going outside and getting their cat (or other animal) away from the racoon/fox/etc. Wild animals could have bacteria and diseases that could kill your animals. So, although this is "cute" it's also probably not a very good idea.

  • yeah i was actually thinking the same thing actually..i'd probably throw a couple shoes at it or something worst case scenerio bust out the sword

  • Cute racoon!!

  • Good lord.

I was watching this nonsense while drinking a coke, and the music made a genie come out of the cook bottle and dance around.

I wished that the damn music would change : )

  • LMFAO I was drinking coke and when i was reading this comment i laughed my brains out coke all over my keyboard n screen ...NICE!

  • What song is that and who by?

  • lucky cat he was gonna get murder for following

  • i enjoyed this your observation...made me ponder on this....nice i like the cat

  • i'm amazed that the little deer didn't move at all!

  • lol!

  • That cat would be murdered.

  • The racoon indeed asks for permission:)

  • The standoff was interesting, each contemplating who controls the territory. The raccoon arched his back to make himself bigger as he slunk out of the yard. Interesting how that defense strategy is so similar to a human's "saving face."

  • I hope that Raccoon eats that cat-

  • Was she growling and hissing at them? My cats growl at racoons, and the coons hiss back! Your cat is big.

  • She began as a homeless, very starved kitten and now defends her food against larger animals, but is cautious.
