  • How can sensory awareness know pure consciousness? What might awareness see? The fact is, sensory awareness cannot behold pure consciousness or pure Mind. So awareness is the problem. It must and can neutralize itself and the sensory veil it depends upon thus making all void/inane. Only then is consciousness beheld which is a self-beholding independent of awareness. Consciousness is absolute substance, the most primordial - our true Self or atman.

  • Hang on all very complex, perhaps simplification and God consciousnes is being moustache less. Or just wordless.

  • u have to admit, it's hard to sell meditation to america because we're so so used to ascribing mysitcal states to superstition and psychic baloney..also, even though meditation obviously would provide a cleaner, more logical and altogether better feeling of 'high' than any physical drug, being able to achieve that high of awareness through meditation takes, well, effort, something most 21st century people like to avoid, instead opting for the quick but fleeting drug high..just saying

  • ...That's it? Meditation is metacognition? Seems a bit misleading.

  • u need to sweep all bad from mind once in a while but the best way is praying,,is not only relax mind but spirit,,,,,(,to God creator)

Carefull with mixing new age with God,,,even though some advices may sound good,, the source in their main root were not approved by God,for ome reason,,this is why is forbidden,,,, read and follow cause God knows better

  • focus on itself

  • Taking too much awesome dope can achieve a similar effect

  • @MrAssbaron this is probably true in many cases, but I think a good goal here is reducing external dependency on existing substances or .. objects :)

  • @MrAssbaron Sure, and you live on credit... for awhile. But eventualy you have to pay for squeezing your nervous system by exterior means. You come down, and the suffering not worth it. Believe me, in the long run you pay for everything. Plus (sure its a lot of work) but meditation and stuff that gets you MUCH higher, clearer and in synch with collective reality.

  • @gariji1 You are absolutely right. Still the best solution to all problems is one that in today's world is almost impossible...at least from my perspective anyway. That is total escape. Escape from distractions such as people, work, media everything that distracts your concentration and then make the attempt to TRULY isolate yourself for a substantial amount of time. Something like those monks do when they retreat in the wilderness and really get down to some real meditating. Shalom

  • Man, I bet you a million awakening experiences that this guy could not sit in Zazen for more than 5 minutes. His abuse of students worries me. People, the physical abuse of the old Chinese and Japanese Zen masters(and it wasn't common practice- the technique of a few) of their students has to be seen in the context of the times and the preexisting philosophies of those cultures.

  • Haha! Wanker! God he's creepy! And yes.....I understand exactly what he is talking about, and yes I think he is just another fraud, fake guru, with middle to low intelligence, and despicable in his deceptions. Someone needss to run a workshop on waking up from Cohens waking up experience. lol.

  • @katrinamparo: I know Cohen's cult well. I've also been acquainted with it for 25 years but not from the inside. I've got more sense than that. I lived with several people in a Buddhist community who went on to become his followers and who are now his organisers, sycophants and PR men. I've watched some of them depart from the madness or just kicked out and some have remained to run the show, Believe me it is not projection on my part. I know exactly what I'm talking about.

  • puhleeeze!

  • What an asshole this guy is. A first class narcissist and a case study in borderline personality disorder.

  • @rogkeista Interesting that you can be so sure about someone in under seventy seconds of video. Or could it be your own projection???? I have worked with/known Andrew Cohen for 23 years, and let me say my own impression is utterly the opposite.

  • @katrinamparo

Have you listened to the interviews of Eli Jaxson-Bear and his wife Gangaji on New Dimensions? If you listen to their separate interviews and put together their stories about finding Punjaji, the teacher of all 3 of them, you'll hear that Cohen found Punjaji first and Eli and Gangaji were both very taken by his enlightened demeanor, but when Eli asked Cohen where to find him so that he could learn under him, he refused to tell him.

  • @katrinamparo

I felt that was a very self-centered maneuver and it makes you feel that Cohen believed that he was the only westerner worthy of learning from him and the only one capable of spreading his teachings to other westerners.

  • @rogkeista what dont you understand my friend? No need to insult..

  • @SOCRATES012 .....just telling the truth. Have you got a problem with that?

  • @rogkeista yer i do. come on then, what you got big boy?!? lol

    you are such a joke

  • Consciousness!!!
