I watched this last night and hid for this whole last clip. (I was scared...) The only parts I saw were the gloves on the typewriter and and him getting up. I was terrified by the end of the movie, so my dad made me re-watch his "revival" and I could NOT stop laughing at how the lady died. LOL!
So ironically sad that the actress Vera Clouzot died of a heart attack only 5 years after Diabolique, she had something very unique compared to the other French actresses and she was extremely beautiful in "Wages of Fear"
can someone explain to me what just happened, i didnt see the movie cuz i hate wasting time in watching movies that are supposedly scary so i search them up to see the best parts of them.
I think this is still the greatest psychological thriller of all time, but the basic idea was so brilliant that it would've taken a bozo to spoil it. In the film that Clouzot made prior to this one, "La Salaire de la peur", the basic idea is flawed and the entire film fails as a consequence. Hitchcock would have scrapped that film from the start, though he might've made a great film on the basis of this one.

One of the few intelligent horror movies. Since when had the ending been so unpredictable than in Les Diaboliques?

Can anyone help me, what camera movement is used at 3:40?
RachCharproduction 1 year ago
@RachCharproduction That would be a panoramic (PAN) movement : it's when the camera moves on its axis, not to be confused with travelling.

At 1.50, while looking out of the window, she looks like Sandra Bullock

Best twist ending, by far.
However, this movie has a double twist, which you should have included. ;)

It lacks a final reply, in a scene right at the end of the film which gives it more mystery ... but I say no more!

You can tell that this is a French film by the fact that the heroine's nipples are visible through her nightie.

Do also check out "Rififi" and "Le Corbeau".

Definitely. Much as I like this film, I like "Rififi" even better. And "Le corbeau" is one of my favorite films.
