If we play the numbers game, almost 99+% of scientists who have Phd's in biology and paleontology agree that evolution is one of the most proven of any discipline's theories.

Sure....many biologists and certainly paleontologists need evolution to keep them employed. The geological column as it exists in university textbooks does not reflect what is observed in the field. Dr.Walter Vieth a former professor who taught evolution discovered this.

I don't think one would have to necessarily believe that: considering some scientists accept evolution, but insist that God still got the ball rolling. That is just what I am thinking,I could easily be wrong. The sticking point is the massive logistics of trying to teach hundreds of legitimate belief-systems. Others may disagree. I would like to hear other opinions on this. But for now, logistics is the biggest problem I would have with teaching religion/beliefs/ faiths etc in science class.

Evolution isn't science either, the idea was developed to substantiate the pre-concieved notions of Naturalistic philosophy, we believe X, therefore we will look for evidence to prove X. Cheif, I am not sure who considers evolution a philosophy ??? The leading scientists in the field are not studying philosophy, they are studying biology, paleontology etc.
As for your Doctor friends, I don't doubt that there are Doc's who feel that way...but that alone does not discredit evolution. If we play the numbers game, almost 99+% of scientists who have Phd's in biology and paleontology agree that evolution is one of the most proven of any discipline's theories.

One cant just parrot talking points from Sean Hannity or some creationist website. 200 thousand papers have been accepted into many scientific expert journals, while exactly ZERO have been accepted on creationism. Darwin was a devotee to the philosophy as were guys like Francis Bacon and it's roots stretch back to antiquity. Sure....many biologists and certainly paleontologists need evolution to keep them employed. The geological column as it exists in university textbooks does not reflect what is observed in the field. Dr.Walter Vieth a former professor who taught evolution discovered this.

The subject of forcing religion into public schools has been dealt with in The Supreme Court and it was removed because it is un-Constitutional. If a public school teacher is terminated for breaking the law, so be it. If she wants to teach creationism, she has every right to work for a private religious school.

For now we will only discuss the logistics of teaching all possible viewpoints, theories or philosophy's. We would have to teach everything from Christianity to Islam to Buddhist (arguably it doesn't always qualify for a religion) Scientology, many, many forms of Christianity because they all don't agree 100% on everything, Hindu, the list is never ending. I don't think one would have to necessarily believe that: considering some scientists accept evolution, but insist that God still got the ball rolling. That is just what I am thinking,I could easily be wrong. The sticking point is the massive logistics of trying to teach hundreds of legitimate belief-systems. Others may disagree. I would like to hear other opinions on this. But for now, logistics is the biggest problem I would have with teaching religion/beliefs/ faiths etc in science class.

Evolution isn't science either, the idea was developed to substantiate the pre-concieved notions of Naturalistic philosophy, we believe X, therefore we will look for evidence to prove X. That's theology not science. Turn education over to the states and vote on it. Teach both views and let the kids decide...I can guarantee the kids will be coming home with some interesting questions. lol

I will not ignore your question tho. No, evolution is not a belief system at all. Science and scientists do not do like the theologists as you said. They go where the evidence takes them, develop a theory and go thru rigorous per-review (which can be ANY evidence that refutes theirs) and after all the arguing finishes, the theory is accepted. It works exactly opposite of theology. See, science does not have an emotional investment and shouldn't. Science can easily reject any theory that is proven wrong. Theology cannot due to it's claim of having an absolute understanding. I am not being demeaning to you, but truly...you need to read-up on how science works. I am not a scientist...dont take my word for it. Just go read-up on how it works and you will come to understand that your above statement is completely 180 degrees out.

@orangemod ....Firstly evolution needs to be recognised as a philosophy on the origins of the human race, granted they use science in an attempt to substantciate that view. Start a philosophy class beginning perhaps in the 7th grade. Secondly, purge the textbooks that attempt to blend evolution with the biological sciences, I have M.D. friends that have stated that evolution contributed nothing to thier understanding of science and is an unnecessary encumbrance in the field of medicine.

I am a pagan and am not a "nut" i try to take a logical stand point with my beliefs. However, i don't think there is quiet enough evidence for me to believe i came from a monkey lol...not saying it's impossible, but hey i need truth not theory (aka: belief) If they find the missing link i'll go for it, otherwise im gunna say either A) goddess and god created us or B) we were just a lucky accident. (and don't say this is illogical ...how many children are born accidents ? lol

Evolution is a fact, gods/goddesses are not.
"don't say this is illogical" - It is illogical because you are suggesting that human folly can be correlated with natural law as an explanation of our origin.

The biologist who discovered things live, dug up some bones, and said there is no God; coming from the graveyard of death, that is bound to provoke feelings. We see he digs up old bones, someone shows up and does an atheist rally cry; Richard Dawkins writes godless books, and gets paid: Jokes on you, all he ever learned was old bones and you claimed your belief in old bones.
