Not a good idea. Majority of companies have not produced their software to be 64bit capable meaning if you just want to surf the web, do a bit of photo viewing and use movie maker that doesn't even work thats the best option for you but if you want a practical computer go for 32 bit.

Ive been using my mac ibook for 3 years now, aswell as windows XP for over 8, together, and honestly, its great coz i can still exchange files easily. I can make easier spreadsheets and word documents and apply professionally edited photos and templates on my mac. Mac + Windows = Dreams and Imagination to Reality.
Which you can do with a PowerPC emulator: the most functionable is PearPC on sourceforge. anyways, windows is way better though. mac is just for, as my friend puts it "Ritards who do not know how to use a computer and do not want to"

Macs are reliable in terms of, work production, anti-virus and media production. Music is great with Macs, and once u have Microsoft office installed (for em switched users) or AppleWorks, ull never regret about purchasing one.

Hmm at best removing the DVD (no it's not a CD) would give you a disk access error or halt the install.
The big mistake probably was in installing it on somthing that didn't sqalify for the minimum system requrements, go use you mac mini instad of that pice of junk you call a laptop.
BTW, you should never buy Vista and install it on a computer you already have, but buy a new computer with Vista pre-installed... Microsoft and tech-magazines and people advised about that....

you have to give windows vista some time! its only been out for 6 months. remember when windows xp came out it was horrible! i think this is the most stable first release of a windows.

Ive been using my mac ibook for 3 years now, aswell as windows XP for over 8, together, and honestly, its great coz i can still exchange files easily. I can make easier spreadsheets and word documents and apply professionally edited photos and templates on my mac. Mac + Windows = Dreams and Imagination to Reality.

Which you can do with a PowerPC emulator: the most functionable is PearPC on sourceforge. anyways, windows is way better though. mac is just for, as my friend puts it "Ritards who do not know how to use a computer and do not want to"

i dont know why peeps are saying how Macs are hard to use.. Its coz ur new to them, u need to get hold of one and try it out for some time. Obviously if u had a windows for decades and then tried a different OS, DUH!! ofcourse its difficult.
Macs are reliable in terms of, work production, anti-virus and media production. Music is great with Macs, and once u have Microsoft office installed (for em switched users) or AppleWorks, ull never regret about purchasing one.

I am SO happy that I bought my Dell Laptop BEFORE Vista came out.
I have the Vista disc that Dell gave me for free. But after having heard/seen the nightmares that others have gone through with Vista - I have decided to not install at all. It is simply not worth it.
All this hype for a piece of garbage!

Hmm at best removing the DVD (no it's not a CD) would give you a disk access error or halt the install.
The big mistake probably was in installing it on somthing that didn't sqalify for the minimum system requrements, go use you mac mini instad of that pice of junk you call a laptop.

BTW, you should never buy Vista and install it on a computer you already have, but buy a new computer with Vista pre-installed... Microsoft and tech-magazines and people advised about that....

my 4 year old toshiba satellite's hard drive "broke" after i partitioned and repartitioned it back. although it was broken i installed vista ultimate on it, and it took me about 2 hours. if it has taken you 4 hours, then you didn't burn the torrent right

If it took 4 hours to load Vista! It's not Vista you should have got, it should be a new laptop with more ram. I loaded Vista on my desktop in 40 minutes.

Hey if i saw right was that a windows vista BASIC Edition disc in there if it took 4 hours wat pice of shit satatlite PC are u rinning man. Im 15 and it took 1 hour i just watched TV while the whole thing happened. My desktop pc was made in 2005 rining Media Center and it took me an hour to upgrade 2 Home Premium so this is funny as hell.

Hey, back off! It doesn't take THAT long to install Vista. Xp takes ~ 1 1/2 hours and Vista took only 1 hour to install on my Mac.
