there's a few people from SGA that are in Stargate Universe-there's the usuals-Daniel, Carter, etc. Also the main wife of Luscius from the episode"irresistible" plays Lt. James on universe, and also that Really sexy Runner dude Keiren from the episode "Tracker" plays a small part around the end of season 2 of Universe. Stargate Universe isn't that good of a show, it's getting better, but it will never be as great as Stargate atlantis

From just looking at this it seems like the story might be something like the Doctor Who episode "Amy's Choice" where the characters can't decide if the life they're living is real or a dream. I think that would make sense, I can't see john killing himself any other way but to get back to reality.

Wow, I totally agree with people here. SGU is boring as hell, and I really tried watching it. I wanted to like it, but it's just not interesting at all. The episodes are all money saving soap opera crap. I loved SG1 and really loved SGA and those bastages took SGA from us, and we screamed for them to keep it going. Hell, I would have donated money to keep it going. They think they can do whatever they want now or something. Screw SGU.

The only reason they cancelled SGA was, it was too expensive. Look at SGU. Some relationship stories, a few sex scenes, same outside shots of destiny over and over again and a lot of scenes located on earth.

And there are mostly unknown actors except Robert Carlyle.

Sci-Fi Shows are expensive because of the special effects. If the ratings go down, they won´t sell any commercials anymore. If the ratings of SGA were any better to make more profit of it, they would never have cncelled it.

My mates tried to get me into SGA a few years ago, saying it was different to SG1 (which I didn't much care for) wasn't interested til 6 months ago when i saw SGA s1 ep1, got hooked and have got all 5 series on DVD, gutted it's cancelled, stupid mistake, great characters, great chemistry perfect balance of action/suspense and comedy. Gotta love Rodney, he's so like me. Surprised they've cancelled the SG that was the most popular, very strange decision.

Wow, this was weak. I'm in agreement with all of you, SGU just isn't the same. There is no point to it. SG1 had the Goauld, Replicators and the Ori. SGA had the Wraith and the Asurans. There is nothing (and from what I've read, will be nothing) like that in SGU. It's just getting annoying...let's bring one of them back.

Sadly, I'd have to agree with you..... I tried really hard to like SGU...I wanted to like it, but it just wasn't there for me..The sex scenes were superfluous and the dark edgy atmosphere just seemed like it tried to catch that BSG feel ( and maybe a few of its fans, too) but that isn't what  made the SG series great to me. Someone apparently likes it because SGU has been greenlit for season 2.... If it ends up canceled though, I can't say I'd be too heartbroken about it.

Stargate Universe sounds very interesting. The thing that I like most about what I have read on it is the fact that there won't be one main big bad guy. I love both SG-1 and Atlantis but both those shows got stuck in that us vs big bad guy cycle that just got boring. I want the show to be more about exploring the weird and alien like it was originally supposed to be. From the sound of it it looks like this new show will do just that even if it is forced on the crew. I do miss SG-1 and Atlantis.
