  • what classes and are jobs hard to get.

  • @freshboy2324 Generals for your college/university are required along with a bit of math and LOTS of science. In my program chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, biochemistry, anatomy and physiology, microbiology, food science, advanced nutrition.....and more are required. You must be able to handle all of the science! lol

  • @freshboy2324 Also the field is growing and they are finding more ways to incorporate dietitians. They are even employing dietitians in grocery stores now! Unless you are interested in a prestigious hospital or clinic I don't find it to be overly hard to find a job. BUT that is mainly the midwest I am speaking of I am not familiar with other areas of the country.

  • @CorrieHegwood to become a dietician all you need is 4 year of diet and nutrition major, some internship, and pass the state exam correct? i feel the same way you are because i want to be different from other dietician also. im not doing it for the pay, but do you know the salary range?

  • @freshboy2324 you are correct on the education. You also have to complete several hours (Mine requires 360 hours) of shadowing a dietitian. Also, the pay is always concerning for someone going into dietetics because you work very hard in school and dont seem to be compensated for the amount of work and education needed. average is around $50,000-$60,000 but some dietetic directors in hospitals make over $100,000 it varies a lot. I would never accept less than $50,000.

  • @CorrieHegwood interesting when will you graduate? i don't understand why people say dietician don't make enough to survive by themselves? do you think 50k is enough to survive by yourself?

  • Are jobs in dietetics available in big amounts or is it hard to find a job in this field ?

  • @MegaCreativethoughts Not really. Dietetics is a growing field. There are certain areas such as if you want to work in a prestigious hospital/clinic or something there is always competition but they are finding more ways to incorporate dietitians all of the time. They are even starting to employ dietitians in grocery stores now!

  • Can u give me the curriculum for dietetics? What science and math classes are required for this career? I love health!

  • @MegaCreativethoughts For a curriculum it really differs I would search the school you are interested they post sample curriculums for the program in dietetics. I can say for sure that I only had to take statistics but I also passed the math exam to be able to skip a few other math classes. There is a lot of science like chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, biology, anatomy. If you love health its a great option!

  • what uni did u attend for your BSc..and does it matter what uni u attended in the future, i mean will affect your chances of finding a good job?

  • What uni did u attend...does the university that u attend affect you after

  • its such a coincidense that you were thinking of going into physio but actually found a stronger passion in nutrition! im in my last year of kinesiology which i LOVE and i was always thinking of going into physio after (also for the money and pristige unfortunately) but somehow i couldnt get away from my love of nutrition! so after i get my kinesiology degree im most likely going to get registered as a hollistic nutritionist and combine my passions for sport and diet! good luck in your future!

  • @teyalov wow we have had similar paths! What you are planning on doing sounds amazing! Good luck in your future as well! :)

  • I love that you are interested in helping people with eating disorders. I have actually been struggling with anorexia for about 5 years now. I'm 19 and I still struggle with it every single day, although I am almost to the point of recovery! I think it is a subject that is seriously hard to understand just because it is pretty much a mental disorder, meaning it's all in the mind. Like I said in a previous comment, I have also looked into becoming a dietitian. I love that you want to help others!

  • @rachelkay0725 Yes I think that it is a disorder that many people overlook and is not taken serious enough. I am proud of you for dealing with this disorder it must be very difficult for you. Feel free to email me at CorrieHegwood@gmail.com if you have any questions about healthier eating habits and/or questions about becoming a dietitian! Best Wishes :)

  • hey, i just stumbled across your channel literally today. i was hosptialised a few weeks ago and they found out i was clincially dehydrated. i wasn't taking enough fluids in my diet. since then i've become so interested in dietetics. i didn't realise but small changes in a person's diet can make such massive changes:) i've never had so much energy since i started my new diet, drinking loads of water. any more info on hydration would be great. best wishes from ireland:)

  • @crazyjav101 Staying hydrated is so important! Most of your body is made of water so if you are not taking in enough fluids it hurst....everything!! From your hair to your skin to your organs and muscles, they all depend on water! Thank you for watching my videos! :)
