  • is it the same with the slim???

  • @sdfdogjedi100 Clean the slim after 2 years. Yes, similar cleaning process.

  • kool thanks mate so i i do it as good as i done it last time i might be lucky again for it to work for 6 months init ?

  • @styla7SNM No idea how long your repair will last. Most last a few days.

  • can you tell me what the paste was called again ? I have the other thick one you was talking about, the proper silver one but I need a new one and would like to try the one you used. thanks mate. one more thing i just got my yellow light today again after 6 months. will the fix work again ?

  • @styla7SNM Dynex is the white brand, but I'd still with Arctic Silver 5 if you've used it before. Anything short of a professional reball repair will be temporary.

  • y didn't he use a heat gun everybody else u tube video i see they use a heat gun

  • @mrtogoodc Because it's not a repair video. It's a prevention video.

  • Where can I buy online a new PS3 Slim Blu ray drive? Also about how much?

  • @tenchidbz Drive or laser? Why would you need the whole drive?

  • bij mijn playstation heb ik steeds dat mijn fifa 12 en black ops spel bevriest of dat er dialoog en muziek ontbreekt licht dit aan mijn lazer en mijn koeling of een van de 2

  • Thanks my wifi not wrking or controllers what to do

  • @Blindangel83 Hopefully your wifi/bluetooth board can be replaced... if you have a model that allows replacement.

  • I nearly forgot to plug the battery back in. What does the battery exactly do? I'v seen them in PC motherboards, but i'v never asked what it is.

  • @MrE82y It allows the system to remember stuff like the TIME.

  • @fixmyplaystation The battery allows ur motherboard to remember the changed u have done in the bios, like change the time the date the CPU overlocks stuff like that. is something Hugly important

  • can i don't reassembly wireless and card reader? in case i just want to play my PS3 only to play games?

    thanks

  • @jop5776 The system might run without those elements but if you have problems, put them all back in.

  • I did everything like in the seven videos but mines keep turning green and powers up for about 1sec then turn yellow and shuts down and it start to flash 2 time the red light...any help plz thanx or did I do something wrong!??.

  • @Kevin29Mx You have the yellow light of death. Your motherboard needs to be repaired. This is a PREVENTION video, not repair.

  • i have a question, while re assembling my ps3 i bended 2 of the 4 pins of the battery to motherboard. what trouble will this give me??? thanx

  • @escee006 if you can't unbent the pins, at least you will have no DATE memory. You'll have to reset the clock every time you turn the PS3 on.

  • ok i have a problem, when i tighten the middle screws for the heatsink it's never even. i don't know what i did wrong.

  • @MexicoGto Be careful not to break those screws off. If you do, you'll need to buy a new heatsink.

  • @fixmyplaystation Hey hmm i used arctic silver 5 and i saw your video, but what i did was spread it all over the processor and gpu and cpu, AND the heat sing . So pretty much double paste was put on, will i have to worry? And i actually fixed mine im not going for prevention, how long you think it will last if i let it cool for 18hours or more everyday? Since i have school...

  • @dragonxd32 You used way too much. The point is to have an extremely thin layer between the heat sink blocks and the processors. Just enough to fill in the microscopic spaces between the two.

  • Really nicely made video's. Easy to follow! Made me laugh when you talk about not over tightening screws as 'it's not the space shuttle, were not trying to keep the heat tiles on'. lol. Very true! People do like to tighten the shit out of things when not needed!

  • Hi, my 80gb ps3 has ylod recently. Currently it is still useable but it will ylod at random times. Can I still prevent the ylod from coming back?

  • @MillaJava The GPU might be hanging on by its fingernails. Cleaning MIGHT allow the heat sink to keep the temperature down enough to keep the YLOD from happening.

But a reball of the GPU would be a sure, permanent fix. Call us for a referral there.

  • what if you got the YLOD and you got it fixed doing the reflow repaire, can this be used on the same ps3 to prevent any future YLOD's from occuring? and how often should this be done? thank you

  • @Phearix At-home reflow will almost certainly lead to another YLOD in the following few months. But yes, cleaning the heat sink every 2 years or so will help avoid future YLOD.

  • Fixmyplaystation, So I dont need the heat gun if i have the yellow light?

  • @second2nonebut1 Yes you do, if you want to attempt the reflow repair. This video is for PREVENTION of the ylod, not repair.

  • does the paste have to dry before replacing the heat sink and fan? how long does the paste take to dry? thank you in advance for such a great tutorial

  • @dod4luce The paste does not dry. Replace the heat sink immediately.

  • Can I just send you mine? lol no but seriously ...

  • Man i dont used any compressed air to clean inside my PS3 60GB.

I wased with water !!! except the mother bord.

I used teeth brush to finish. Then, i changed thermal paste : i won 1 fan level ( PS3 have 4 fan levels).

  • @Viki1AprilBorn You win the award for most unhinged repair.

  • @fixmyplaystation "most unhinged repair" O_o ? I dont understand ... but my PS3 works well and i always washed my consoles + controllers ( pressurized water is the best solution for me ). Even washed the metallic shields !

Unfortunately I've not filmed the SCENE in the Bathroom !!!

  • Hi, My ps3 motherboard is a little bow and the heatsink is not making contact in the center of the cpu/gpu. I don't want to risk further harm by bending it. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks

  • @letigirl62 The board might have buckled due to excessive heat. Might be best to contact someone like Rework Concepts (listed on our YLOD page).

  • can i ask you a complicated question for me

  • @MarkieBhoy17 sure... or email us at support at fixmyplaystation.

  • Um do you have to dry th heat sync stuff? like th solder you put on b4 puting them back together or no? Like the reason im watching this is bc all the newer games i get tehy make my ps3 overheat, but the old games i play like resistance and mw2 my ps3 is fine only bad company2 and medal of honor shut my ps3 off

  • @Defcon24xx Not sure what you mean by solder, but no don't dry the heat sink paste. Reassemble immediately.

If your PS3 overheats by turning off completely, even after you repaste the heatsink, you may have a partially damaged RSX graphics chip. That would require repair.

  • @fixmyplaystation Didnt mean solder sorry, Okay could my Hard drive being loose keep over heating my ps3? My ps3 is the 60 gb refurbished. I got it from SOny when my first 60 gb ylod. What do you mean turning off completly. Like my ps3 shuts offf with th beeping sound. No yellow light. But like it only happened so far when i play those 2 games, Could it be that my ps3 benig 2 yeaars old now that it overheats and teh the heat sync paste do i dry it or no?

  • @Defcon24xx It's overheating, but don't know if it's just needing a heatsink cleaning or if the motherboard is defective. email us or call.

  • hi i have a question after put thermal compound, how much time I have to wait for reassembling?

    thanks

  • @ASESINOmar You can reassemble immediately, as we do in the video.

  • you make it look so easy
