If you go back to the very beginning of when you had Doowap in the 50's then came Soul in the 60's ,R& B in the 70's older artist were not knocking the newer artist because they constantly improved the sound, and got better as time went by, then came RAP! Killed all the potential singers,they thought singing was not cool so the new voices forgot how to sing and R&B lost it's Voice. the missing element~ CHURCH~ the Soul deprived generation has no clue of what Soul sounds like, so they rap!
