Anyone that doesn't fully understand the history of slavery should study. The African tribes were having wars over who would control their own slave market, way before the Portuguese ever stepped foot on African soil to start the international trading of slaves. The Africans captured and sold their own people into slavery. The blacks need to look to the Jews, who have endured persecution, slavery and near complete destruction. But they don't live in the past and use it as an excuse for failure.

And the end of segregation was not the true end of segregation, in people's personal lives they still had to deal with the looks, the names, the status of being an outcast. That type of damage can not be repared over night

A lot of peole are unaware of what slavery was, it wasn't just the mistreatment and captivity of an entire race of people for hundreds of year, and once they're set free things go back to normal. Slaves were treated like animal, brainwashed for HUNDREDS OF YEARS into being dependent upon and obedient to their masters, while beind divided amongst themselves over the pettiest of differences, because just as it is today, a people divided is much easier to CONTROL.

Well, a third factor is that at the same time, taxation laws became destructive, too.
