They're right about the hard plastic covers, heck up until last gen, most games came in those damn cds cases which crack easy.......and as for NES and SNES packaging, I haven't seen an NES box since maybe 1991....they tossed in to the trash in a heart beat.

Brunte, I only owned mario games & considering snes/genesis era Sonic crushed Mario in every aspect. Art style, graphics, sound track, characters, level design. Only thing Sonic was lacking compared to mario is gameplay. Sorry Sonic fans but a few bubbles dont compete with a dozen unique suit power ups.

I would say that the 16-bit Mario and Sonic soundtracks were about even. But then again, if Sonic CD is counted in too, you are right. I would say that even though Mario is the face of the 8-bit era, and of video games in general, Sonic is the face of the 16-bit era.
