I was a teenager during the 70's. We used to drive around listening to this on a casette player in the car. I feel for teens today because the music is so lackluster. My kids were teens during the 90's. At least they had good music.

I Remember Listening to this song the day my grandma died,I Listened to this song right after we got back home from seeing her one last time,this song makes me choke up every time i hear it.
I grew up in Epsom,and used to live near Jimmy Page's childhood home. I grew up listening to Led Zeppelin and since moving away,the music has taken on a deeper poignancy. Led Zeppelin definitely eased my teenage years and soothed me through some troubled times.And I wonder whether Jimmy thinks of Epsom too sometimes...or is he a million light years away.

This is where I think Jimmy Page was at his best. His electric stuff was obviously first rate but Bon y Aur, Rain Song, Black mountain side etc. Is where Jimmy was at his inventive best. Every time I listen to his acoustical stuff "poof" I'm takin' back to the Cove area in Stamford CT. His ballads makes me nostalgic for my old home town as well as great to listen to.

Well, sort of, haha. On Zepp III there's a song (guess is the ninth track) named "Bron-Y-Aur Stomp" (ain't instrumental of course). This, on the other hand, it's merely called "Bron-Yr-aur", and you can find it on the C side of Zepp's sixth album: Physical Graffiti. Of course, both are great dude.

No it's not standard tuning. Depending on how good you are it can be kind of tough to play, especially if you're not good at finger picking. It took me a little while. go to guitaretab(dot)com and click on "bron-yr-aur" not "bron yr aur." They both appear to be right, but the first one is easier to read. Just keep practicing it.
of course, you want to look up Led Zeppelin songs after you go to that website...forgot to mention that. If you just wanted to play around with the tuning though, it's CACGCE from low to high. I just tune all those strings to 3rd fret A. Pretty tuning; the only other song I know of that uses something close is "kingdom come" by coldplay, where B doesn't change to C.

No it's not standard tuning. Depending on how good you are it can be kind of tough to play, especially if you're not good at finger picking. It took me a little while. go to guitaretab(dot)com and click on "bron-yr-aur" not "bron yr aur." They both appear to be right, but the first one is easier to read. Just keep practicing it.

of course, you want to look up Led Zeppelin songs after you go to that website...forgot to mention that. If you just wanted to play around with the tuning though, it's CACGCE from low to high. I just tune all those strings to 3rd fret A. Pretty tuning; the only other song I know of that uses something close is "kingdom come" by coldplay, where B doesn't change to C.

well u know how bron yr aur is the name of the cottage in wales where they wrote alot of 3? well i heard a cool story where it was the morning of a three day party and the sun was slowly coming up over the hills and jimmy page was the only one still awake. apparantly he just sat on the door step with the sun coming up and just bashed the song out in a few minutes strait from the soul. may or may not be true but i like to think it is.
