  • No wonder it took 2.5hrs, you're using a hair dryer lol. Invest in a high powered dog grooming one and it'll cut that time in half.

  • AWWW!!!! Dogs are my favorite.

  • my samoyed cant stay still for a minute

  • is it true, that they have very little body odor?

  • The best thing about them is the fur doesn't smell even when it's wet I miss my samoyed Suki she was a lovely dog!

  • what a beautiful happy dog :)

  • he looks like a big white wolf (^_^)

  • I HAVE THE SAME DOG THEY ARE AMAZING!!!

  • I agree! :)

  • You have a very sweet dog. =)

  • I don't mean to sound like all the other know it alls. But those people grooming really should not play a radio. The high frequency noise hurts the dogs ears. And they are agitated and anxious already being in a strang environment. The groomers where I worked never played a radio for that reason.

  • What a sweet and gentle dog. Sammy's are so beautiful! :)

  • very cute!

  • Beautiful animal.

  • De aranyos!

  • i got my samoyed from a shelter and he was listed as a samoyed x golden retriever mix because when they cut his fur he looks like a golden almost exactly like sedna did when she was wet. now im just working on growing that beautiful coat of fur back.

  • @Szednacska- What kind of brush did you use?

  • My samoyed won't let me brush him, he nips and tugs! I wish I could brush him like Sedna had been brushed.

  • @xpkxheeling you can try giving him treats and affection while brushing so he associates it with being a good experience.

  • @xpkxheeling My Samoyed is 5 months old, my husband and I brush him once a week. The first time he really hated it, but now he is getting better with it. Usually my husband holds him and comforts him (the first time he was feeding him treats) while I brush :) Takes about 20 mins.

  • I got 1 samoyed dog thts like 3yrs old and he is sooooooooo cuteeee........

  • When their hair is dried they look really chubby, but when they wet you can tell there not because the have so much thick hair!

  • the most beautiful dog ive ever seen!!!! i wanna have one!

  • when sammys are wet, they look like labs.

  • what a beautiful dog :)

  • Wow, very well behaved.

  • omg! i want a Samoyed soooo bad but that's sure a LOT more fur than i expected. oh boy. does it shed TOOO much to be handled? and do you think New York summer's are too got for this breed?

  • Incredibly cute lol I have one too, it's a wee baby lol

  • Wow- your Sammy is so calm with the hair dryer. I have to hook mine up to the grooming table and she hates it.

  • oh your pet is well-behaved <3

i really want to get one but i am living in asia and the weather is too hot for samoyed.

  • How do you get your dog to stand still for that? My samoyed would be running away!

  • Aww, what a good little puppy! You're so lucky to have him.

  • I really love this dog. I hope to get one. But I have a bit of allergies, will this be a problem? and we live in the midwest- where the weather is cold and warm, is that another problem? Also ONE last question, my family doesn't want hair everywhere. Is it alot or easy to clean up? Thank you very much. :) Very cute dog btw.

  • @ksk8terkeaton - I wouldn't suggest getting a Sammy if you have an allergy. Dogs with dense fur like Sammies require regular grooming, which can stir up allergies. I brushed mine every day or every other day. Warm weather climates are not good for Sammies either. They originate from Siberia, cousins to Huskies, so they thrive best in cold. And you WILL have hair everywhere with a Sammy. They have dual-coats, a first coat and a secondary coat. Thus they have TONS of hair.

  • @PixieGiggles33 yes you are so right! i have one Sammy and i'm going nuts about the hair, it's everywhere! i am vacuumming every 2 day, if i could clean every day ,it would be ideal, but i can't be every day with the animal dyson vacuum in my hands! i have 2 little kids and they just love the dog so much, but i am crazy when i see the hair on their hands or lips because they are touching the dog and then put their hands in the mouth! but what can i do?! i love the sammy , he's a very loving dog!

  • Legszebb kutyák a világon, nekünk is van két leányzó!:))

  • What was that spray?

  • @DuttyFassyhole

    Tangle remover - long coat

  • @Szednacska can you give the name?

  • so cute! and you no if you had his fur cut a certain way he would actually look a lil like an atlantic wolf lol

  • Awwwww lol she is so cute, and really well behaved. My german shepherd, Sheba hates the bath, i usually end up with more water round me than her lol. Without a doubt a samoyed will be my next dog, they are beautiful :)

  • You got your dog in a tub...near a hose...with water spraying on it...when my dog sees the hose she runs across the yard. even if its not on. if we pick it up BAM. shes gone

  • It seems all Samoyeds look the same.

  • that sam is so well behaved!s/hes totally enjoying getting dried at the end!!! my sam hates the brushing part and wont sit still!! hes a nightmare but I love him anyway!lol!!

  • I have samoyed too, they are very cute dogs. :)*

  • lol i love the faces he makes at 2:53

  • Oh and I love your dog's facial expressions when she's getting dried with the blow dryer she's like "Ahh yes, this is the life". lol

  • This is my dream dog. There honestly one of the most beautiful breeds. May I ask what she is spraying on the fur?? Ive never seen that. Does it help to keep it healthy?

    -chloe

  • Looks just like my puff she is a 1 yr sammy

  • I always wondered what my Misha looked like when he went to the groomer. lol

  • After you take your samoyed to like cut the hair and

groom how long does the hair take to grow back, and if i

comb my dogs hair outside will they're be any hair inside the house!?

ii really want a samoyed but my mom is still thinking about it haha!

    so thank you(:

    &please answer back

  • Hee hee wet sammies loose all their dignity!! But then they dry up agaun and POOOF!!! Gorgeous and prissy once again!! Love these dogs!!

  • Had one name Bear sense he was a Puppy he died a couple of years ago :(

  • so fluffy so cute :D

  • awww i want a somyed!!!!!....where can i get one in texas?

  • hi i was just wondering how much did she or him cost you? and did you get it from a shelter or a breeder? Im considering getting one :)

  • God created these beatiful dogs to pleasure us

  • watch the magic at the 0:40 the samoyed turns in to a golden retriever

  • i just got a Samoyed for my birthday.. she is so cute :))))

  • Can you tell me how much your dog sheds hairs. Love the dog by the way.

  • Aww~

    Sedna's a cutie. :D

Meanwhile, I'm stuck with a golden retriever who prefers to give ME the damn bath xD

  • looks sleepy while being blow dried.

  • Sedna's just so cute!!!! I'm hoping to get a samoyed for my birthday this year ^-^

  • I hope too! :)

  • @Szednacska yea :). Are samoyeds difficult to train and leave hair everywhere? ^-^

  • @Szednacska yup :). I'm getting it for my birthday on August 30

  • @Szednacska

Poor dog! What did it do to deserve this?

Don't let Paris Hilton get her hands on one of these.

  • ohhh its sooooo beautiful...!!!

  • Sammy's don't shed more than usual. Mine HATED water. She was rescued from the street, and must have been abused. I gave her a grand total of 3 baths in her 11 years I had her, and she wasn't stinky at all really. Very clean breed.

  • im thinking about geting one im wondering how well do they do in alaska which is were i live and it can get to like -50.....

  • @seahawkak Sammy's were bred for cold weather, they also make excellent sled dogs too. They get their name from the Samoyede people of Siberia.

  • She is a very beautiful dog, and so well trained to sit like that for so long.

  • I am convincing y parents to get my family a sammy. But, i was if they consistantly shed and leave hair all over the place?

  • Don't worry about it... Their fur is like a wool.

  • @Szednacska

Its like wool ? .. Does that mean it will pick up off carpet easily or will it be a pain?

  • @Szednacska

Its like wool ? .. Does that mean it will pick up off carpet easily or will it be a pain?

  • @cobalt1428 Yes, their hair is pretty visible on black clothes, but it is like wool and very easy to remove.

  • @cobalt1428 I brush my Samoyed usually every other day and there's usually little to no fur on the floor.

  • you take her to the salon once a year, how often do you bath her? my boy kaiser gets a bath like every 5-6 weeks just cuz of getting so dirty

  • what do you feed you dog does it need some special food?\

  • Nothing special food. She eats cooked meat and dry dog food. Her favorite dinner is the baked chicken :)

If I don't have time to cook, she gets conserve.

  • yea at 0:40 it looks like a lab or golden! very well behaved dogs though :) huskies will go ape when u try to shower them like that!

  • at 0:47 i was like O_0 is that still a samoyed?

  • 1:26 lol xD!

  • such a good doggy

  • we have also same brush of our dog! and i think they have the same breed !

  • he sure is a ig dog and adorable!

  • Oh I wish I could have one! I have allergies and I hear that Samoyed's are some of the worst for allergies. So I have to deal with videos....

  • My allergies are pretty bad and my dad's girlfriend has at least 5, plus another 5 puppies. Im very sniffly, but my eyes dont get that teary (somewhat, but not much) nor do I break out in hives. Hypoallergenic, no, but defenatly not the worst for allergies. If you have just 1 or 2 samoyed and you keep them clean, it shouldnt be that much of a problem.

  • Don't encourage anybody to get a Samoyed.

Sure, they are cute as hell, but they require more work to care for properly than any other dog. If yo can't spend 2 hours a day with them just giving them attention, you're neglecting them. They are very needs animals, but if you have the time and devotion, they are the best animal.

  • I wasnt so much encouraging, but I do agree. They shed constantly and twice a year, they shed a lot. This is good if you like spinning and knitting things, but bad if you want your furnature and carpet to be sparkly clean. Your new friends will be the sweeper and lint roller. I have a black peacoat and it gets covered in dog hair when I go to her house. Plus, you are defenatly right about the care. They make great pets, but you need to devote time to them and give them exercise every day.

  • If they have the time and the will to put down energy on their dog to make it as happy as possible, I think anyone can encourage them.

Lisa 13245 didn't mention anything about what kind of exercise she could give her dog, she just said she was allergic.

  • big fluffy teddy bear!

    cute doggy!!

  • thanks :)

I love Sedna very much :)

  • What a beautiful dog! His fur looks very comfy. :-D

  • Watch at 0:30 when the magic of water turns your samojed into a golden retriever... and then the transformation is reversed at 1:20 :)

Samoyeds are really cute, I wish i could own a whole pack of dogs - there are so many great breeds that it's hard to pick just one!

  • Thank you for the reply... and congratulations, Sedna is gorgeous! :)

  • pretty nice :) how many times in a month/year do you bath your dog?

  • Not frequently. We haven't been in the dog salon in this year yet. But if we go to walk and Sedna's legs will be dirty, than we wash them in the shower.

  • How in the world do you keep your dog so calm??? Even i think the hair dryer sounds are horrible!

  • Sorry, I don't know :)

  • I wouldn't say he's that calm. He's panting a lot and his ears are back. He's uncomfortable, he's just putting up with it. :b

    Beautiful dog, by the way!

  • No, the dog is pretty calm.

Samoyeds pant when they're just hanging around quite frequently. My female will pant when I'm petting her eyes, just because she enjoys the pleasure of it.

If the dog wasn't calm, he (? I'm not positive this dog is MALE...) would have his eyes pretty wide open, and trying to look at everything that is being done to him. When their eyes are squinty, they are generally content.

  • I used to have two Samoyed, at the time of the bath was a family colaboration. The best thing is when you take them to the beach and the run towards the people and shakes in the middle of them! everybody: cute, cute... no! no! And leave everyone with hair and sand all over.

  • lol 3:40 3:43. he is like talking in sync with the background music.

  • yes, indeed :-D

  • My samoyed is now 5 moths old can I bath her? because i read they soud be at least 6 months old until 1st bath? please replay

  • Be calm, you may bathe your dog, you shouldn't wait one more month. Don't keep the hot hair dryer near her fur.

  • tnx =)

  • It is such a BEAUTIFUL dog . So cute a nd very well behaved . samoyeds r lovely .

  • hmm..my dog is 10months old and he was never in a saloon and we never bathed him...but we really should...would there be any problems there if he doesnt know how it feels and stuffs..?

    :\

  • If you want to bathe your dog at home be determined and there will be no problem :)

  • Thanx) mouse:)

Sedna will be 5 years old in May.

  • What a nice dog, it behave so nice. It looks like a mouse when wet.

  • For samoyed is not good to "clean" them on this way....

  • Hello, I wanted to tell you that my samoyed also used to have the same metal brush. He was brushed a little too hard one day, and was cut on his skin, we didnt notice. untill the skin became infected and started to smell. .. We took him straight to the VET and he had to have his back shaved. . all because of those brushes.

  • What a sweet and beautiful dog Sedna is. I'm a dog groomer and I wish all my dogs were as well behaved as her (although most of them are pretty good). However, I would recommend using a high velocity dryer to dry that thick coat all the way down to the skin.

  • iv a 8week old sammy the cutest thing yew culd eva ask 4 !! but he will not stay still in the bath!!! its more lyk hes giving me 1 than me givin him 1 lol

  • I have Sammy as well, but have no idea how yours stays so still when blow dryin it. Mine is a chicken.. He always runs scared as far as possible from the hairdryer and there's no gettin him back in the room.. lol

  • When we tried to bath my dogs at home, it wasn't successful. And it's amazing that they can behave well themselves in the salon.

  • Sedna is beautiful!! And so sweet. Amazing that she lets you dry her without trying to get down of the table. My male, Kodi, is much like that too. He loves to be groomed. My female, Samantha, starts out ok in the bath, but wants out after 20 minutes and does not like the slicker brush. She is ok with the hairdryer though, so I just use my hand to groom her fur.

  • Your dogs are very beautiful, too! :)

  • Since you're from Hungary, you might even be able to see Samoyeds that are NOT white.

The only reason Samoyeds are white, is some English explorers ran into the Samoyed tribe before the Bolshevik revolution. After that, the Iron Curtain came down, and no more dogs came out.

The entire line of Samoyeds in Western Europe is from just SIX dogs.

Samoyeds can actually be black or even red. They still have a very similar body structure.

  • I haven't seen black or red samoyeds yet. I think these colours are very rare nowadays.

  • > I haven't seen black or red samoyeds yet. I

    > think these colours are very rare nowadays.

I've only seen photographs of them from the Nenet tribes in Siberia.

If you look up "Aboriginal Samoyed Dogs of the Yamal Peninsula" on google, you can find some descriptions by researchers.

The breed that has been established in the rest of the world is most definitely white though and will probably stay that way.

  • You'll damage the hair blow drying it.

I just bathe mine and go for a 5 hour walk, then I come home and comb out.

  • The weather isnt always warm in Hungary, there are one or two warm months. I cannot take my dog out for a walk when she's wet.

  • > The weather isnt always warm in Hungary, there

    > are one or two warm months. I cannot take my

    > dog out for a walk when she's wet.

As long as it's dry it works for me.

Besides, if I blew dry my dogs in the house, I'd have 10 cm deep of fur all over the place.

I like the drip dry look too. My female's hair gets wavy when I let it dry on it's own.

  • I have one! my gosh they are so cute, but FUR FUR FUR FUR FUR everywhere!!!!!!

  • Yes, I know :)))

  • Make clean............

    He is quiet.

    good!

  • Thanks :-) Sedna is very good puppy... and friend.
