  • german nation agains german nation........so sad :(

  • This is one "worthless" video. =p

  • Your vid is popular on Port Louis

  • why those damn germans shooting their mp40s at shermans

  • @Duskworker First of all, because it's just a movie...but anyways, they're trying to keep the tanks "buttoned up" because tanks have alot of blind spots so if the tankers can't see then they're almost useless........but if u know how to command a tank like oddball then it doesn't matter xD

  • @wyldefan716 "Button up" means close the hatches and leave them closed. It's got nothing to do with blind spots.

  • I love the 3 Tiger tanks in this movie. Actually, they're converted T-34/85s, but they sure as hell look like Tigers.

  • m4 sherman<3

  • You starting to wander what happens with a hippy in a Abrams tank! LOL

  • i love how with all that german resistance they have no anti-tank weapons

  • 3 tanks vs infantry, 3 tanks shooting like shit to wooden buildings. It is the American way! Luck there was not even 1 German tank near! Or they sure would been put to shame.

  • @elmounrs not really. later in the movie, 1 Sherman takes out three tigers.

  • This old version of "I`ve been working on the railroad" is fantastic.Anybody knows where can i find it? Soundtrack version i much worse.

  • oddball rox, but in this movie they give no anti tank stuff to germans?

  • i dont think they are american this whas made near soviet union many of these guys are tjeckoslovakians i think

  • @davvvvo Those were Yugoslavian Shermans. Yugoslavia was the only country whose army still operated M4s when the movie was made and they were willing to loan those three on the cheap.

  • You can always tell when American acters are playing in ww2 German uniforms. The Helmets dont fit, are worn sloppily. German soldiers didnt walk like monkeys, they had a high degree of dress and deportment. As a matter of fact a German infiltration team disguised as US soldiers had to be retrained to act sloppy to pass as americans in the us uniforms they were gonna wear for the mission.

  • VEEEER DAS FUCK IST DA PANZERSHRECK !!!

  • ive been working on the rail road nice touch

  • oh, 9 people does have a lot of negative waves

  • One thing that's been nagging me since I first noticed this a few years back

2:31 - HE LOOKED AT THE CAMERA.. How unprofessional

  • @JackaWilko wow I never noticed that.... Thanks for telling me that, now I can't take my eye off that part lol

  • in tunnel........train comes...

  • Damn those facists and their n-waves.

  • That's what happens when money isn't used on enough Panzerschreck's..

  • This is what the Sherman was made for. Killing infantry and not tiger tanks.

  • ODDBALL THINKS GERMANS HAVE TOO MANY NEGATIVE WAYS

  • one of my favorite shows.I also liked Von Ryans express ( the germans got there ass kicked in this seen)

  • Final Score. Germans Killed...815....Hippies Killed....0

  • I wonder what Oddball's doing nowadays.

  • I love this song. It kind of.....calms me down=)

  • 2:30 a German makes eye contact with the camera...

  • Send in Oddball and his tanks to Libya !

  • Were there hippies and country music in 1944???

  • beatnicks battle best

  • This used to be my answering machines recorded message the whole song and sound effects. I never got many people leaving messages.

  • A Sherman can give you a nice, Edge... Oddball.

  • 3:30 great!

  • LOL They used Flakvierlings to attack the Shermans XD

  • @MHXDownfall They often did in WW2 very effectively

  • ANYONE who watched this clip, and, didn't like it, must either be a dingleberry, or, a sore-losin' German!

I'm German-American, and, LOVE this clip, so, THERE! :P

Du versuchte, verlor aber den Krieg - live mit ihm! Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!

  • According to Eastwood, there is a lot of film on the cutting room floor that would make this movie look entirely different as a seen whole. Something like that.

  • Where's a Panzerfaust when you need one?

  • very good movie, i love it :):):)

  • How did they play the music ? Tape players hadnt been invented and record players wouldnt work. Lol.

Also, not a single panzerfaust in the entire company ?

  • @trulynot "Between 1944 and 1945, the 3132 Signal Service Company Special of the U.S. Army's top secret Ghost Army used wire recorders to create sonic deception on the Western Front in the Second World War. Multiple battlefield scenarios were recreated using military sounds recorded at Fort Knox, Kentucky. The wire-recorded audio, which was played back through powerful amplifiers and speakers mounted on vehicles, was used to conceal real Allied deployments, locations and operations."

  • @DocCasualty Thanks for that. I better now google "wire recorders"

  • @trulynot I was going to go into a bit about wire recorders but ran out of room! They've been around for over a century. Ran across the quote about WWII use, so the movie even has plausibility in this regard.

Great flick; I've been a fan for 40 years!

  • @DocCasualty Yeah, its great film. All the characters are very watchable. Well balanced, even the stereotyped sabre scarred German... Lols.

Wiki has a good page on wire recorders too. Thanks again :o)

  • Nobody has a Panzerfaust ? I doubt that, Germans had tons of them as AT infantry weapon :P

  • @oOCrossroadsOo You've never seen a movie before have you? If they had a Panzerfaust they would have killed oddball and the other tankers, thus ruining the movie. :P

  • @zombiehunter96 : Who said they would hit the Shermans ? :P Would have added some suspense don't ya think ? :D

  • @zombiehunter96 How did they play the music ? I know they got loudspeakers but on what system ?

  • @trulynot Well Oddball is a level 10 wizard, so he used magic to play it.

  • @zombiehunter96 Come to think about it there was witchcraft used during World War II.

  • @oOCrossroadsOo Most of the front line troops were issued Panzerfausts, but being 30 miles behind the front, there was no need to carry such a heavy weapon around. These were support troops, probably badly trained & not very well equipped...

  • @bearmassaro : yeah you must be right !

  • I love this!

"I've been working on the railroad *BAM*

    All the livelong day" *BAM*

  • Its a beautiful tank formation baby.

  • rofl! play sunshiney music while shoot ppl! this scene made me literaly rofl when i first watched.

  • i`m german and not a nazi.

  • @Charliecomet82 good for you, although your country on your profile says different. did you have anything else to say, or is that it?

  • Tank beats nazis. Tank beats trainyard. Tank beats everything!

  • Now that I think about it, why were they shooting at the railroad workers?

  • All these positive waves man, I'm like lovinin it ..... FIRE!!!!!

  • I put a speaker to one of my Warhammer 40000 tanks due to this.

  • Google "Panzerfust." It was issued to the German Home Reserve units and Hitler Youth to slow down Allied Tanks. There was even a unit called the Werwolves who were responsible to post surrender attacks on Allied personnel and German "collaborators."

  • @rdsanchez1966 yes but this railyard is abount 20 miles behind the front line the germans wouldn t be expecting armour

  • Setting up the attack was the only time Oddball actually showed a serious side in the whole movie. It showed a a part of the character that was not a hippy.

  • I love watching nazi kraut bastards dying by the truck load. I love the smell of burning swatiskas in the morning.

  • i think im going to apply for the royal tank regiment

  • Greatest war movie of all time, hands-down.

  • The music at the end makes me laugh so hard. xD

  • USA !! USA!!!! USA!!!!

  • This is so good...Man, what a lot of carnage! Thx for posting this! It's easier to look up your favorite scenes here than pulling out the dvd...

  • this relaxes me somehow - i dont know why - but it does

  • Don't mess with a hippy in a Sherman !!!

  • Details! Do you really expect movies to be historically accurate. I find this amusing because the music is not exactly suited for going into battle.

  • germans next time have the panserchrek at the base

  • yeah!!! i'd just smile at the sherman!!

  • sherman!!! xD

  • i think its cool how oddball says fire, sounds like "OOOoooh"

  • @gruntsquad121 thats his only order in the entire movie

  • That was probrably the most relaxing 4:02 of my life :)

  • @krum118118 Yep, nothing like good old classic country music while 3 Sherman Tanks blow away Nazi's huh? ^_^ Lol itis kinda relaxing lol in a wierd kinda way.

  • FIRE !~~~~~~

  • This scene helped give Hank Jr. his first number one in 1970. Hank has been recording music since 1964, and has been touring since around 1958. This means he has been in the business longer than even the Stones.

  • hey scwabblobl ill hiove yoi lolol

  • M1 Shermans = "FireFly"

  • @Dang23211 re: firefly

M4=Shermans. M4A1 is round hull; M4A2 & A3 are square. 75mm gun in classic round turret.

76mm gun in a stretched turret(s) w/ new cupola hatch = 'M4_ (76)'. W/ new suspension = 'M4_ HVSS. 'M4_E8' was M4 with both the 76mm gun (and turret) AND HVSS suspension. Other variants [google]

US only used A1 & A3: A2 was only Marines and LndLeas. Brits called A1, A2, A3 "sherman II, III, IV. Brits put '17pnder' ATGun in classic turret = "FIREFLY": TD of Brit Platoon.

  • Gotta Love Oddball.

  • Just gotta love Oddball woof woof.

  • Oddball owned so hard

  • What are this songs?

  • The german soldiers where only trained how to fire weapons drive vehicles and throw grenades, they had no formal army training like the American Army did,

and anyways the Americans didn't want to destroy EVERTHING like Oddball and them, they used great persision, meenwhile the Germans destroyed EVERYTHING!!

  • @Dang23211 [americans] used great persision, meenwhile the Germans destroyed EVERYTHING!!

    Very INcorrect.

  • @SeanMacCloud U accualy just proved my point >_> Oddball and his crew blew up everything, houses, watertowers, outhouses. The real American tankers wouldn't do that

  • @Dang23211

I don't see how I proved your point.

At any rate, WWII US used saturation barrage techniques cause they could.

These tanks do attack unrealistically. Note that even though a tank is an anti personal weapon it is not good for CLOSE RANGE! Any kid with a grenade or ATR could disable a million dollar tank.

But that was not my point. My point was simply that your assertion was wrong. (The US did use saturation often.) Holland 'Band of Brothers' not with standing.

  • calous.

  • Comment removed

  • Its a movie! shithead!

  • Great scene, but my citicism is the tanks stopped to destroy the depot. The Sherman's only strength was speed. In real life my guess is they would have shot through the installation like "crap trhough a goose."

  • This is one of my favorite scenes from the movie, I love when the tanks begin belting "I've Been Working on the Railroad"

I seriously doubt there was much realisim in this scene however. There are some really nice uploads on YT of the Battle of Kursk between USSR, and Germany. Prolly the largest tank battle in human history.

  • M-M-M-M MONSTER KILL (kill (kill)

  • L-L-L-L-L LUDICROUS KILL (KILL (kill

  • Nobody expects tanks to be coming 40 miles into German lines to come out of your tunnel, that your about to send a train through. The only thing wrong here is, Hank Williams Jr wasn't around to sing this song until much later after the war ended.

  • The ending is just hilarious!

"I've been working on the railroad *BAM*

    All the livelong day" *BAM*

anyway I think that area was just a junction point for supplies way behind the front line and the only attack they were expecting was long range bombers. As you can see with the flak guns.

And Getting a surprise attack by Armour, no chance to counter and the only option was to run for there lives while listening to country music..lol :p

  • Those Germans must have been awfully surprised to hear a country music song blaring out of tank speakers. If the tanks attacking them when long-range bombers were what was expected wasn't surprise enough, it was a group of tanks with a liking for playing loud music in combat. Awesome.

  • @bbestar WOOF-WOOF, WOOF WOOF!

  • @bbestar The irony is killer there, pun intended ;)

  • @bbestar who the hell do the germans think their shooting at? their using machine guns against tanks, no wonder they lost.

  • @gowiththeflowish Not just any tanks...

    Oddball's tanks.

    Nobody fucks with Oddball.

  • @RichardTaylor1800 Normal tank commander: no one move. Oddball: O no, by all means, move...

  • @gowiththeflowish german army in 1944 was formed by rookies..or too old soldiers....

  • @FULANODETAL Led by nutcases.

  • my dad best friend had a german solider helment

but the friend is dead becuse he jumped from a brige

  • Where is the blood?

  • @YonnyMestampo

    on the Nazi Uniforms

  • anybody notice he almost shot a sherman at 3:06?

  • Where's the Panzerfaust?

  • who lost; asshole.

  • No, they didn't line up to get shot; they got lazy. Surprise is everything. Trust me.

  • YES!

  • Gerries here have no battle skills and survival instinct whatsoever. Just line up to get shot .

  • I disagree. The Germans fought and did so bravely, but what the hell were they going to do about a group of Shermans when all they had was some very surprised rifleman and AA crews? The latter, which could have damaged the tanks, got knocked out fast, leaving them only with small arms.

  • Dude its a freaking movie why are you examining it like its a real life engagement.

My issues is why are the guns so freaking long on the Shermans? 75mm guns were quite short, where as the 76mm variants with the long guns had a different turret design than the ones in movie. Where they meant to be the 76mm variants?

  • the ones in the movie were disguised to make the germans think they were maybe a 90MM ,oddball makes reference to this early on ...shermans did later on adapt a 90 MM gun called a firefly to counter the german 88MM

  • Mmmmm, must have missed that line.

  • lenght has nothing to do with the size of the gun mate ,and there were plenty of real life engagements such as this over there i just gave you a bit of info on the gun itself ,and for the record were both examining it

  • @Mcplkelly

they mention why in the movie, its because the gun is fake. oddball had the gun look bigger then it actly was, to scare the nazis. Also his shell were filled with red paint.

  • @Mcplkelly

    Yes

    76mm

  • Those are some good kill:death ratios!

  • Only in Hollywood Movies do the Americans walk all over the German troops. The reality of WW2 was the other way around for the Yanks....

    Fantastic classic film though :)

  • @muslimsrsmelly

Too true, although a fantastic scene from a great Movie, German troops would have had those tanks down within 2 minutes, simply because the tanks had no foot support.

Such a funny scene though, country and western music hahahah

  • Yes, this is why the British and Americans rolled through France in record time.

  • @MuslimsRsmelly I wouldn't say it was the other way around. There certainly was no walking over anybody though. The reality was that after D-day, save for the bulge, the German army only marched in one direction, home. But you are correct, there was no walking over anyone. Nice name by the way, awesome.

  • @mick03112 I would, the American casualties in the Hedges of Normandy were 25:1 against the Germans. You had a few good moments but other than that it was just a slaugherhouse...

  • best line of the movie- I dont need you, 60 feet of bridge i can get almost anywhere, SHMUCK

  • Uncle Leo is a schmuck.

  • Though the scene is a bit unrealistic...it all depends on how far behind enemy lines they are ;) Plus the element of suprise was well on Oddballs side.

  • not supposed to be realistic dickhead only a movie

  • Only one thing the gerrys had 88's whitch could kick the fuck out of us

  • Maybe Hitler didn't budget for the anti-tank gun. Think about it.

  • Yeah, for some odd reason there was no single antitank gun, panzerfaust or panzerschreck around, so the Germans attack the tank with their light machine-pistols. LOL

  • "I've been working on the railroad!" HA HA HA!!! They sure have been!

  • we got a few black eyes and a blooded nose, but the U.S. has been kicking ass since 1775, I've been doin this for 28 yrs, go Army, and we got the finest Marine Corps in the world too !!!!

  • @hardsarge69 yeh thats why u are gettin yer as kicked hahah vietnam africa afghanistann lol

  • Not before leaving behind a lot of casualties, the question is whether they'd want to fight us again, plus the fact the war ain't over in Afghanistan, and we're doing better then Soviets.

  • All soldiers are very barave men. ROYAL MARINES are the best ine world

  • Man, can't you spell?

  • I'm 87 years old have very poor eyesight and have trouble working the keyboard. I'm very sorry if my spelling has upset you. My mathmatics is also very very poor. But i would love to challenge you to scrabble game if you really want to sort out this spelling thing lol (old rules of course)

  • @davidarmstrongmassey- I'm not gonna lie- I got no idea what you're talking about.

  • Comment removed

  • i just love the way they drive in casually and play music then just drive away

  • THIS IS SHIT :D very unrealistic !!!

  • how so? usuported infantry with no means of destroying a tank gets owned by three shermans, what so unrealistic?

  • 2:25 They have the British Carter-Gents air siren with that "Ooooga" klaxon going at the same time.

  • How many french railway workers were killed during Oddball's attack? I guess they were collaborators anyway!

  • think you guys a kellys heroes game

    made by steam

  • aa batteris vs tanks

    the tanks winns

  • Thats 3 tanks what taking on a company thats awesome!!

  • hahah 3 M4a1 can killl an entire battion, not 1 of them have any AT wpns, amazing LOL, love that guy firing the 20mm at frontal armor plate, tkes guts that lol maybe side armour could have worked lol

  • Say what you will about the Sherman in battle, but they always seemed to be there.

  • enemy infantry spotted, enemy anti-aircraft spotted, good deal, thanks. lol love this film, love BF2 as well haha!

  • OH those jumping germans!

  • i do have to say though, no german soldier would shoot at a tank with an smg

they were trained to attack the tank with grenades and to try to mount it

I STILL LOVE THIS MOVIE WITH ALL MY HEART AND LAUGH WHEN I SEE THIS SCENE

  • @RPCProductionsNY maybe he was trying to "button" the tank?

shooy out the veiwports take out any exposed crew and maybe even get the driver with a sot through hias window.....

  • @RPCProductionsNY Mounting an enemy tank were actually counted as an official tactic for infantry to use against enemy tanks. I seen a German infantry guide on how to combat enemy tanks dating back during the later war years. It calls for the infantrymen to climb up, throw a grenade inside a barrel, just before they fire so that the grenade will drop it when the crew loads.

Its pretty funny in the captions saying this way had been tried and hundreds of Soviet tanks were taken out this way.

  • @romanlegions That is what the infantry manual said, but funny thing, the manual wasn't staring down the business end of three Shermans 20 miles from where they were supposed to be.
