But not before the forerunners took about 100 of each species. The forerunners constructed robots to wait till the flood was wiped out before they took the organisms back to their home world. Most of the forerunners died during the initial fight with the flood, and tons more died when they activated the halos.

These are Dyson Spheres. They are built t trap all the star energy output for use by the builders. The main hassle is needing grav generators to maintain a steady field through out the surface. A good rep of this was in the ST TNG episode, Relics.

FYI... the flood isn't "exactly" gone!

now IK the flood was "supposedly" destroyed with the "Ark" but:

1. we have no Idea where exactly the flood might have gone too!

2. I've beaton Halo 3 and I don't remember it saying that all the rings were destroyed (I might be wrong of course) If anyone has any news to conferm/deny my data or would like to talk please feel free to reply/message me and I would love to talk!

First off, Forerunners can be enemies. Just read Halo: Cryptum. You sound like a fool since you haven't researched this thoroughly. Halo 4 will be what is called a "Shield World" and I am willing to bet everything I have on that. Also, I am willing to bet the Forerunners are the enemies and I have a feeling Master Chief will find the consciousness of the Didact. Besides, no one is a true fan of Halo Wars because it does not follow the timeline of the first three Halos.

It was also stated that the enemy of halo 4 would be an ancient but 'new' evil. Remember, Cryptum was just the back story and I doubt that they would base halo 4 of a book series that, to put it bluntly, was read by very little of the halo community. from the end of halo 3, I agree on the shield world theory too.
