This scene is so awful and badly done considering they're both great actors. I really don't think they had any chemistry compared to Jess and Roryy, their scenes were so real and even off screen they fell in love... it does show.
And even though I love this show, and the whole mother-daughter relatioship in it, I have to say that both Lorelai and Rory were terrible when it comes to relatioships. I hated Rory flirting with Jess right under Dean's nose, and then sleeping with him while he was still marriedn, and Lorelai sleeping with Chris after having just broken up with Luke. And an engagement! But the show was so good that you just can't hate these girls, but in these moments, I did hate them.
He didn't pressure her, it is just horrible no to hear "I love you" back, I wouldn't be able to be with the person either. And this doesn't come even close to what she did to him after she started falling for Jess. I liked Jess too, but it doesn't change the fact that in her relatioship with Dean the jerk was not him, Rory was. She was a horrible girlfriend. They made Dean to be a jerk after Jared got the job in Supernatural to make people not miss him. But this Dean was the best boyfriend.
Dean is such a dick and ALWAYS was. Breaks up with her because she doesn't say she loves him? Then they treat him like a victim in the show, which is stupid. He should want her to know for sure and say it when she means it, not dump her for not mindlessly puking it back out at him when he says it. What a tool, the fact the writers never felt the need to treat him like the dick he was is ridiculous.
