  • sorry , not impressed with its quality at all

  • DOES IT RECORD SOUND TOO?

  • how come when i try using the video feature with this cam, it can only take clips less than a minute?

  • @Kaptiion i believe cauase it will only shoot clips in 1090p

  • @Kaptiion You need a quick enough SD card and enough free space on it.

  • Any decent video editing program can (and will) step this 20fps up to 30fps without degrading it. Most video enthusiasts are familiar with the scrubbing and reworking of primary output files so why would the 20 fps be a problem?

How anyone can say that 20 fps "cripples" the the use, is beyond me but I guess there are always people who'll look to knock any product based upon whatever displeases them and usually for the sake of being heard. Dollar for dollar, it's well worth the money.

  • Looks like the Nassau county Police flag there in the video!

  • they couldn't boost it an extra 4 fps?

would it really take that much more processing power

  • its called: marketing.

If you want more fps, buy the 5d.

  • marketing? i call it laziness. 20fps cripples the use of the video, it's a rip-off and everyone knows it.

having to pay an extra $1000 for a few more FPS, is not marketing my friend ;]

  • professionals HAVE to work with 30 FPS and they will spend 1000 or more.

Laziness??? Do you know how the companies are run today. They study the people, separate them in groups. They spent years doing this. DSLR entry LEVEL? Got that? Family people will buy t1i, more advanced dudes will go to 5D. It's not about technology anymore, it's only about marketing. Probably Nikon and Canon have deals between them so their cameras are nearly the same features.

    Check "Duopoly" in wikipedia

  • and do i know how companies are run? no.

do i give a shit? no.

does it have anything to do with what my original point was? no.

if you're saying that Canon spends so much time on R&D, how many years of studying would it take Canon to realize that 20FPS video SUCKS!?

because from what you're saying this is how it goes down at Canon:

"hey, do you think 'families' will realize that 20fps looks like shit?"

    "nah..."

  • [cont'd]

If you're going to spend 800+ dollars on a camera, im thinking MAYBE the person is somewhat knowledgeable about the specific features of it. They're going to know that they got screwed by the 20FPS, and they're going to wish it was better.

  • People keep going on about the 20 frames per second thing but I can't really see anything to upset me here. Actually, I quite like the slight jerkiness; it gives the impression of old fashioned film and I like that.

  • Cinematic film is 24 frames per second. ;)

  • 720p will be perfectly fine with about 95% of the people who purchase this level of camera. I watch 720p and 1080p shows all the time and there is very little difference. I'll be shooting in 720p all the time for two reasons..... saves space on my memory card and the quality is still OUTSTANDING.

You are looking at a YouTube video for God's sake, it's not going to look anywhere near as good as the actual product. Read the professional reviews, they rave about the photo and video capability.
