  • "RTS on PC or NOTHING" epic win. awesome review I actually wanna buy this just for inspiration for sculpting some minis haha great vid guys really enjoyed it!

  • Orcs and Humans, not Warcraft

  • This review is just awful.

  • I bought it some time ago, but Ive played it with my friends only like 4 times. The main problem with this is the learning curve, + if you play with more than 4 players it takes ages for turns.

Thats the main dissapointment, playing risk 2210 ad now because of its lighter learning curve... Too bad though because its a nice game.

  • thx guys now i know if im going to get it :)

  • I bought this game last weekend, and so I now trying to learn how to play it. I don't really understand how you harvest resources, like, when you harvest them, how do you know how many you have...

  • You don't harvest resources like in the computer game.

As you spend resources, you move your workers from the worker pool to a resource/planet card. Each resource/planet card says how many workers can be on that card. If you have no more cards to move workers to, you cannot spend any more of that resource type until next turn.

If I buy something that costs 2 crystals and 1 gas, 2 workers get moved a crystal card and another one gets moved to a gas card.

  • ahhh ok thanks. Also, I was wondering if you get all of the resource cards on the planet, or just the card that your base is on... And if you only get the resource card that your base is on, how do you get the other resource cards and their resources?

  • You get all the resource cards on a planet as long as

    1) You have a base on the planet

    2) The location depicted on the card is not occupied by enemy forces.

If the location is occupied by enemy forces, then all your workers at that location are destroyed at the end of the turn and that resource card is lost.

The loss and gaining of resource cards does not occur until the end of the turn though.

  • Thanks! I really appreciate your explanations. One thing I can't seem to find in the rule book is about the technology cards. I bought a technology card because of an event card I aqquired. My question is about the amount of times it can be used. It is the Zerg "Metabolic Boost" card. It gives +2 health when you are the attacker in a skirmish, but is that just for one skirmish, or all further skirmishes in the game?

  • If the technology card says place in your play area, then its effects are in effect for the rest of the game. I believe that is what the Metabolic Boost card says, but I don't quite remember.

If a tech card does not say this, then it is shuffled into your combat deck and acts just like a normal combat card. The only exception is the nuke which is placed back into the tech deck after use.

  • mHmmm. So now in my game, I got to the point where i'm having a battle with an attacking terran group, and a defending protos group. My question is that when I move the terran group to a planet with protoss enemies on it, do I only have a battle with the protoss units in one area of the planet? Or do I combine all the forces on that planet and make the battle?

  • When you execute a moblize order, you can figures to any unoccupied or friendly location on the planet. You can only move figures to a single location which contains enemy figures because you can only start one battle per order.

Once a battle starts, only the figures in the location of the battle can fight.

Later, the protoss defenders could play another mobilize order, then move figures into the battle location to find a second battle.

  • hey can u plz get the game tide of iron and play that =(

  • im just lettin any1 know that these people just do a shity talk about opinons on the game. with no actual game play...so please save the time & dont watch all 9 parts liek i did. i feel sad i wasted a good hour of my life...on this. im jsut gonna buy it & OWN XD

  • Wow. And I feel sad for CLICKING on the video.

  • Does that game belong to Games workshop?coz when I play warhammer 40k I don't see that kind of figures.

  • Starcraft the Board Game is made by Fantasy Flight Games. While FFG has a board game license deal with GW, GW has nothing to do with this game.

  • no offence but you go on and on and dont really talk about much

  • agreed - lost me after the first two minutes

  • What is the difference between a board game and a miniatures game?

  • That's a pretty gray area. It some cases it comes down to personal opinion.

If a game has no "standard board" and everything is measured in inches, then its definitely a miniatures games. These are games like Warhammer 40K, WARMACHINE, and Mechwarrior.

However, some miniatures games often have "standard boards". These include Heroscape and Monsterpocalypse.

Another feature of miniatures games is that they are often updated and expanded more frequently then board games.

  • I would say what defines a miniatures game is where each piece that you move and play has its own statistics and "personality".

For instance, in Monopoly, you play a shoe, car, ship, etc. but when it comes down to it, it really doesn't matter what pawn you choose.

In a miniatures game, you play a number of "pawns" and each one is played differently. In many ways, Chess is a miniatures game but came about before the term was coined.

  • my first starcraft was in N64 in 5th grade. Blizzard made it simpler to deal with the joy stick. hope this game is good. love starcraft!!!

  • Okay. Thanks!

  • watch on the spot see how they do this thing they do it so much better

  • these guys just aint interesting enough :/

  • i saw all the movies about this game and i would like to play therefore i will buy tomorrow.i think i'm familiarized with the game rules and i hope i will make a good choice.hope my friends will learn quick to play the game.

  • I don't understand a thing. Maybe I'm not suited for board games.

  • The rules of this board game are insanely complicated

  • That is a valid point I don't think that we mention. The first time we played, I think it took almost 40 minutes to get the game set up, but after a few games things will get smoother. There are a lots of different rules which you need to learn, but none of them by themselves are especially difficult. Its when they are all thrown at you at once that things can get over whelming.

  • cant help but understand what u mean
