At the end when Roy looks up and sees Nathan, he's seeing, not exactly a ghost per se, but more of the lines what he wished he saw. I hope that makes sense. I am horrible at explaining things. I recommend reading the book, it explains so much.

I love this movie,but it's tragic. The book is incredible--pure art./ I loaned it to my gay neighbor couple,but they moved away and I forgot to get it back! ha oh,well--it's on Amazon/.
