How are the fish trapped? they're just feeding off the fish that fall out of the net. The net just acts as a massive burley, while the fish are still in the open ocean. Yes it does take a lot of skill to shoot something that big with a spear. Maybe you should try spear something one third that size and see how much skill that takes before you bag these guys?

Gents, can we leave the pissing contest behind in regards to which is more macho--sportfishing or spearfishing? The issue is whether any bluefin ought to be killed at this point, even if the vast majority are killed by the industrial commercial fisheries. We've got to give this magnificent species a chance to come back. I would encourage anyone who cares about these fish to contact their government representative and their fisheries councils and tell them they've got to stop.
