  • 01:08 We´ll be love Freddie Mercury Forever, so beautifull

  • Jeff Scott Soto é o cara! Caipirinhaaaaaaaaaaa!

Jeff Scott Soto is "the guy!" Caipirinhaaaaaaa!

  • I AM A VIKING, I'M GOING OUT TO WAR, I'VE GOT FREDDY MERCURY ON MY MIIIIND. Jeff scott soto is the man this is different than what i usually see him in :p.

  • Not quite the range of Perry or Mercury, but awesome

  • @TheWraithMan666 leave out perry .

  • LOVE the song! Not a Queen fan, I remember it from the TV series "Highlander", which I never missed!

I AM a fan of JSS, this is much better than what he did with Journey.

  • Ok...I'm a convert...I absolutely HATED JSS with Journey...but this is definitely a MUCH better sound for him. If you had said he woulda sounded better doing Queen...I would have shot you...and yet, he pulls it off righteously!

  • Obviously there is only one Freddie Mercury. Paul Rogers did a commendable job but it never felt/sounded like Queen. JSS is obviously a big fan and he does justice to the music without trying to be a Freddie clone. I would definitely welcome him as the new lead singer of Queen and it should have happened 4-5 years ago. Come on Brian and Roger! What are you waiting for?

  • howie: JSS would do a great job, Rodgers does a good job too, but I think JSS would be better for the band.

  • Jeff is light years better than Paul.

  • Jeff's in his element here!

  • This is the most comfortable video that I've watch with JSS....

When I saw JSS with Journey..I feel bad for that guy because its out of line on his usual vocal range. But when I saw this video singing Queen masterpices...its a goosebump..Brian May should hire this guy.

A real deal for new Queen band.

  • f**king agreed

  • everyone knows the words! awesome

  • Oh my...excellent. Im sure Freddie salutes you Jeff for keeping the music all about the love and passion for Queen.

  • Soto is good but I'd go with Mateusz Ziółko myself

  • o yes!!

  • Soto is a tenor!

  • @perelno Ah, but which type of tenor? I've heard that Steve Perry, hitting all those high notes with Journey, was a "tenor altino". Jeff's range is lower, but powerful. Perry will always be "The Voice of Journey" for me, but I'm a huge fan of Jeff's, too.

  • This is a real good guy, he really loves freddie like most of us do.

I like when he say's We be love Freddie Mercury forever at 1:10

  • handsome man, beautiful voice...PERFECT...I LOVEEEEEE THIS GUY!!! s2

  • ohhh handsome is the least hahahahaha he should take that shirt off!

  • @0dh0r0 And if, like me, you like the ballads, check out Jeff's CD, "Essential Ballads". The only Journey song on it is "Send Her My Love", I believe. I've become a real fan.

  • best baritone of rock 'n roll

  • ¬¬ jeff is a tenor wikipedia said that

  • fuck off what wikipedia says

    do you believe in that?

my grandmother must have written in that shit

  • goooooood extra

  • SignusMelko, Has a point. Yet- I think they should totally use him. Gah-~! GORGEOUS.

  • 1:09 i love this man

  • the rumour mill is saying he could be the new queen singer as a queen fan i hope so better than paul rodgers

  • telivision24: I hope this rumor is true! I like Paul Rodgers, but I think JSS is better.

  • 1:35 to 1:40 gets to me everytime! Great voice...

  • JSS has it

  • Jeff Scott Soto should front Queen instead of fucking Paul Rodgers.

  • kirkblackheart: I really have to agree with you here!!!

  • Fucking right he should. Paul Rodgers is a good singer, but not a patch on Freddie.

Two people should be able to do this (maybe 3, Arnel Pineda does a great Freddie imitation). JSS and George Michael (unpopular opinion, I know).

  • Also Norwegian singer Sten Åge Nilsen does a good interpretation of Freddie, he's actually done some shows singing Queen's music. Check him it!

  • Not many people have ever heard of this guy, he doesn't have a whole lot of history yet. Paul Rogers is a legend, and Queen have been big fans of him for many years. Also, I'm fairly certain they didn't want someone to just try to cover Freddie's songs, but rather to sing it in a different style. You can't replace Freddie. This guy is pretty damn good though.

  • not many people have heard of ? ? ? ? former singer of yngwie j malmsteen !! never heard of him either ??

  • Uh.. nope, never. Not a very big name it would seem.

  • Go youtube Rising force As Above so below, or Ricing Force I am a Viking,, and so on and so on

  • @Hanzey666 I HAVE heard of Yngwie Malmsteen, whenever lists of guitar "greats" come up, but I confess I don't know who he is! Who would I best know of him playing with?? I only became aware of Jeff Scott Soto while researching Journey's history and found that he sang with them for a short time. I'm now a fan!

  • @kirkblackheart Yeah, Jeff is doin' a great job, and maybe he was asked to front Queen, but that would mean that his carrier would suffer. Jeff is an amazing artist and has an amazing voice, he's born to be unique, not to sing Queen covers all life long. And Freddie Mercury also was unique, because he did his own thing, and didn't copy anybody. Maybe it's a great honor to be at your idol's place, like Jeff does, but if you respect yourself as an artist, wouldn't live in another artist's shadow..

  • JSS must be the right replacement FM.I prefer JSS than PR.

The only big mistake of JSS was fronting JRNY.His voice doesnt fit with JRNY.If JRNY will forget SP past,

JSS voice rightfully fitted to QUEEN.

  • mon116ph: I prefer over PR too!

  • @mon116ph I don't think Jeff's "fronting" for Journey (very briefly) was a mistake: they needed a singer (Deen Castronovo was doing some songs) and Neal Schon picked Jeff SS to fill out the rest of a tour when Steve Augeri couldn't go on. Jeff has a voice unto himself and is very versatile, I'm a big fan!

  • "Will we love Freddie Mercury for ever!!??" YES!!!!

  • hes such a badass singer man!!! powerfull voice,Yngwie's Marching out album is my favorite only because of his voice! right on JEFF

  • GO BACK TO BRAZIL JSS!!!!!!!

  • Come back to Brazil in 2009!!. Amazing Scott !!

  • Yes, either way he is gorgeous, because Jeff is a fantastic looking man.

  • i think jeff and his band is great!

who doesnt think that way just dont go searching for it and watch it!

  • lamsay10: That's not called yelling, it's called singing.

  • wow, caveman your the best!!!!

  • journeycult: The caveman is definatly the best there is!!!

  • fantastic

  • Jeff gave it all his heart!

    Freddie would be proud!

  • deja vu too huh ?

  • camelotshadow> Freddie would be very proud...

  • he's got a deeper voice but his own style...thats pretty cool....no freddie.....but excellent anyway

  • Wow!! An arguement about chest hair. Who really cares? Chest hair is overrated. I think it looks unattractive. I rather see his chest hairless than him looking like a hairy ape. The man is simply gorgeous, does not need hair on his chest.

  • treaty4: either way he's gorgeous...

  • @Treaty4 Kinda funny! I wonder how old you are? I'm 59 and most definitely prefer some hair on men! All the young guys that shave their heads AND bodies--yuk! Jeff is gorgeous, and a great & versatile vocalist!

  • @jannierocks Everyone has a preference. I don't care for the shaved head either. But I would not tell a man to shave his chest hair even if I did not like it. Agreed. Jeff is very talented and beautiful looking. I have always thought his looks are an eye-catcher.

  • Jeff is one incredible singer. He really can sing anything, original songs, cover songs, just anything and does a fantastic job with all. Soto is an excellent performer.

  • Yep...seen it... it's one of my VERY FAVORITES so thanks for sending it to me. He does an excellent Queen! ( cute as hell here too)

I have one to show you...This one will blow you away.

  • bro i totally agree with you, he is so gifted and talented, he can sing anything from love ballads, metal, rock, you name it, he can sing it.

  • not bad

  • He sounds like he is in church. Very much like gospel singing on this one. Jeff is just a top-notch vocalist. The man is a singing machine, and so good-looking.

  • @Treaty4 I agree! I recognize some Journey fans in here, and alot of us seem to really like Jeff! No one could ever replace Steve Perry or ever will, but Jeff is one talented and versatile guy! AND easy on the eyes...

  • amazing i think jeff tunes down a half step to help.and still as good as he is ,hes on the edge of his range.goes to show how geate Freddie was, that a vocalist of this caliber struggles a little with his songs.

  • I like Jeff a lot! He's not a clone of Freddie! He's got his own way of singing! Gracias to Jeff! We will love Freddie Forever!

  • he is good...the better cover of mercury ive ever seen

  • could someone please up the entire performance of somebody to love!

  • I've just uploaded the full video to Jeff's official site.

Go to Jeff Scott Soto's site (Google) > videos > In the Top 10, click "Who Wants... / Someb. To Love - JSS".

Yeah, sometimes we do requests too ;o)

  • The best ever doing a Queen cover. He's absolutely awesome!

  • Jeff scott soto can sing any song doesnt matter if its metal, rock, love ballad, he is just amazing

  • what song is this??

  • the song is Who Wants to Live Forever by Queen, written by Brian May - a great song, and longer than this cover. on 1:41 they start Somebody to Love, also by Queen

  • thanks for the info! awesome song also

  • no problem! happy to help :)

  • @laddieola101 "Who Wants To Live Forever", by Queen. I don't know if it's on any of their albums but I know it from the TV series "Highlander" with Adrian Paul; Queen wrote the theme music for the show.

  • This whole show is amazing. If you don't have the dvd you must get it.

  • greattttttttttttttttttttttt singer....

  • guess he's always been here,we just haven't seen him !now that we have, embrace and support...

  • bello...parekkio

  • Wow, I'm impressed...lots of Charisma and stage presence and a voice that rocks!

  • Was originally with Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force.

  • OMG.. I just saw him with Journey.. Thanks Gawd, Queen passed on him... He ROCKS with Journey, but then again, he would rock with any group.. Jeff you are awesome!

  • JSS is my "queen" if you knwo what i mean ;)

  • Holy crap this guy is talented. Where the hell did he come from?

  • Currently he's on tour with Journey where he replaces Steve Augeri...

also check out his media section...

    Thanks for the comment!

  • Jeff rocked the house when he was 18 (when I first met him), and he still rocks the house, always will!! He truly is amazing. bm0014 said where the hell did JSS come from -- it shouldn't be like that (I'm glad you found him now, bm0014!) -- Jeff has more talent in his newest chest hair than most singers have throughout their entire bodies for the span of their entire lives!! Okay, you get my point... SOTOtally bitchin'!!

  • Okay, Puerto Rican/Black/Italian... so JSS doesn't have a lot of chest hair -- but he has at least one chest hair, cuz I've seen it! He is THE best singer.

  • He has a beautifull face who care about the damn chest hair. ROFL

    LadyDemocrat

  • chgochef: exactly, who cares about chest hair - he can sing if he has it or not.

  • @bm0014 he was malmsteen's first singer...with 19 y.o! after he tryied a solo carrer not much sucessfull until today...is an awesome, singer kisten to malmsteen live in japan 85" you'll see jeff in a fantastic performance.

  • This guy exists, and they went with Paul Rodgers. Bleh.

  • I agree... Paul is a fantastic singer in his own right...

With Jeff.... they could do Queen material only and not have included the "mandatory" Bad Co./Free stuff...

Queen should not have to "share" the bill, so to speak...

Van Halen could have done wonders if they had chosen Jeff instead of Gary Cherone...

At least Journey's got him now and hopefully this tour with Def Leppard will help bring him to a much wider audience....
