The prisoners who were tortured...members of al qaeda and such who killed innocent civilians didn't deserve it? They need to be sent the message that if they get captured by the US, they won't get sent to some "pleasent" prison where they get 3 squares a day and await trial.

wow you really don't get it. if we torture people under any circumstance there is no difference between us and them. We are not supposed to torture people, that is what makes us the good guys vs them (those who suposedly torture and kill innocent people). As a nation we are supposed to be law obiding and that includes international law. Keep in mind that we sentenced nazis to death for torturing people.

Yes because definetly they don't hold any information that may be helpful to us and even if they do, they'd probably just tell us without hesitation.
They capture INNOCENT people, kill them on video tape, then post it on the internet. We capture the people responsible for this and obtain information from them by the only means they seem to co-operate under which is torture. How would you feel if a loved one was publicly executed? You'd probably want to harm them as much as possible.

Except we already know that torture does not yield valuable information. If you were captured by an enemy you despised and they were torturing you for information, would you tell the truth? Or would you tell plausible lies in hopes that the torture stops?
Or what if you're an innocent caught up in the mess; wrong place, wrong time. You don't know anything, so your only recourse is to lie, and hope they stop torturing you.
The idea that torture gets good information simply isn't true.

Eric Holder does not care about the law!!! Eric Holder Dropped Charges on Black Panthers for Voter Intimidation simply because they didn't respond to the charges. There was clear and convincing evidence to the charges. He didn't do his job in regards to the BP. I am guessing he can bring the charges against Bush however if attorneys do not respond, then he will have to drop the charges.

The fact that he's, "checking the tempurature", shows that he lacks the convictions to go through with this on his own. Any efforts to actually bring charges and prosecute prominent Bush staffers have huge potential to blow up in this administrations face. If charges are brought, they will most certainly be leveled against some mid level flunky who will be used as a scapegoat to show the world we are a just society. No changes will come and we will have become an even more divided nation.

Hey Zile77, a large chunk of that trillion dollar deficit came from Bush's military deficit spending combined with 2 tax cuts (which BTW was predicted to cause bankruptcy by his first treasury secretary and was the reason he resigned) mainly for a war that was far from necessary. The unemployment rate is a direct result of the economy Bush and congressional democrats and republicans created. The spending undertaken by B.O. is also the direct result of this and would of taken place regardless.
