my friend has a huge problem with motu he had the 828 mk 3 DSP or something is not working, he got the ultralite Mk3 also with problems Motu I figure are not going correct with their sound card.
FireWire 400 (6-pin) and 800 (9-pin) provide bus power ( up to 45w). Only 4-pin does not. So the desktop PC provide power, but laptop PC in most cases not.
Another great review MDL! For anyone going with the m-audio brand... The axiom 49 is killlin' em. i used to have the m-audio ozone But, it's a toy next to the axiom 49. the weighted keys feels great and it has 8 mpc style pads on it too! the Akai MPK 49 is a bit superior mostly because of the appregiator. But, foor the money the axiom is a great controller.
Do you have all your sounds on an external drive or something? or do you keep them in your internal harddrive? Also do you use the motu travel for your asio drives while your composing? Also lol, what OS are u running XP? thanks amd good beat
shut up Bucu, let the guy give his reviews, being a music producer isn't just about making beats, its about knowing your equipment and whats new in the market aswell.
Ur wrong... Being a producer is about what U can do with the equipment and not what equipment U have.. U dont have to have good equipment to do good beats.. lookin at Ur login (sonthor1996) Ur probobly just 12 years old and dont know shit about music.. I hope next time ur mom puts a better password on the computer..
U got the wrong guy dude :P I didnt say anything about MdL.. When I was sayin ''U dont know shit about music'' I was talkin about sonthor1996... Back to MdL - Im just sayin that his beatmaking vids were better than the hardware review.. Not hatin or anything..
You're right, but if you have shitty computer speakers for monitoring you'll never get a good mix out of them... or if you're using the cheesy stock sounds in FL it's not as nice as the Native Instruments samples... I agree with you, you definitely have to use your shit well, but having high quality gear definitely does help if you know how to use it.
a tip for u--> TRY your keyboards before buying them.. I think the m-audio series suck by the feeling of the keys.. but I discovered that when I got it in.. Its something people can forget when buying shit for the first time..
No matter what you read on the internet reviews, the only way you'll ever find the right MIDI keyboard is to find one that feels right to you and does all the functions to suite your needs.
Waste of money

Firewire 800 > USB 2.0 > Firewire 400 > USB 1.0................ since you looked lost on that note.
audiogeek2496 2 years ago
Bus powered firewire only happens on 8pin firewire jack (I believe only on Apple computers), no 6pin (PC's).
So much for portability...

Ah of course, my bad. I always thought there existed only 8pin and 6pin (that was before I checked Wikipedia ;p)
My M860TU indeed has a 4pin port, it would be really nice to figure out how to manufacture a battery of some sorts to achieve maximum mobility...
